What side effects have people had from oil of oregano?

When I first tried it, I could tell it was doing something -- I felt it in my spine. After 7 days, I stopped it because the drops under my tongue were too strong & I developed sore spots under my tongue.

It's been 8 days since I stopped it, and my spine has been burning & burning. My breath feels hot, I hurt all over & I feel terrible fatigue -- like I have a bad virus. Ihad to come home from work today at 3:00 and go to bed.

Did it stir up a latent virus like EBV or HHV6?

Anyone else have this experience or know what to do to stop it?

one suggestion that might help:

one or more chinese herbs(herbal combination) that "take away heat," to use TCM terminology.
