I've been on tinidazole for years (along with combo of other abx), to help fight the cyst forms of Bb. I think it's safer longterm than flagyl (which I had used previously for 7 mo., and got some periph. neuropathy toe numbness as side effect which has improved but never gone completely.) No problems with it, 1500mg daily total, three pills. I take two in the AM, one in PM, and do my vitamins/supplements at lunch and some extra calcium and magnesium before bed, two hrs. after meds. You can get it hand-compounded or as Tindimax brand, now out on the market.

I have been on ketek/flagyl for several courses now, and it has made a tremendous difference to my health. Still have lyme, but am much improved.
I recently ran out of flagyl and had some tini left, so I substituted it. Oh my, my stomach cramped so badly, and very, very much nausea-feeling. I got a major dizziness in my head, plus a huge flush, started crying because I got dis-orientated....all within 3 minutes of taking it. Tried it twice more, with the same problem.
So I went back to the flagyl and all this stopped. So, even thou most people do not tolerate flagyl, I find it to be a great drug. Its expensive replacement, tini, did nothing for me except grief.
Just shows to go, how different we all are. And I absolutely hate the position we are all in, trying to decide which drugs, on or off drugs, supplements, etc. (This will have to be another post!)
Good luck to you

My main problem i had from it was deppresion and numbness but i think the deppression was from die off of those little critters. Was on it for a moth and probably will end up on it again sometime.
