Someone just put this on a thread on our forum. It sounds serious and I don't know how to answer them except for telling them to try to get something for anxiety.

Last ditch Effort "BUMP"? 11/27/05 02:35 PM

I have been diagnosed with Lyme, Myco Plasma Clamidia and Epstien Barr Virus. I am currently seeing a lyme doctor who has been treating me for a year (Doxy and Biaxin). I have been sick for 7 years. However, I am getting worse by the day. I feel as though my days may be numbered. I believe that these viruses have gotten into my lungs, because the weather has a dramatic affect on my symptoms. When it gets cold or rainy, I start to have lung problems. I can't even laugh because the "jolting" of my lungs stirs up whatever is going on inside. I have a dry cough, I am very weak and I break out into a sweat whenever I exert myself. Is there any treatment for this? The doctor put me on Veltrex for the Epstein Barr, but it no longer seems to be working. I have recently become very pain strickened. I can no longer even go for a walk. I am too weak to even set at the computer to research things out. If there is anyone out there with information on where I can get help, please let me know. I am from Pennsylvania.

Hi Katratelady,

I had most of the symptoms she is describing and I think for me it was Babesia. But even if it's not Babesia sometimes we just need to find the "right" abx combo that will work for each person.
I hope she finds something that helps.

I had that, and it was Babesia.

If the weather has such a profound impact, it could well be mold issues. My doc thought I had babesia, turend out to be mold in my house.

Symptoms worse in the winter and the rain is a big tip-off.

I never fuly felt the positive effects of treatment until I treated for coinfections.

I feel coinfections are even more serious than Lyme.

I am not her Dr but I would say almost for sure she has babs and Possible Bartonella. Especially if she has mycroplasma.

Hope she is able to get tested for coinfections. i have many of those symptoms, esp. the weakness, sweating, feeling like my lungs wouldn't open and close right ( or i guess i could just say: couldn't breathe ) sometimes.

Also had bad shaking chills at the beginning of what i believe was the babesia infection becoming symptotic. Didn't have any really dramatic changes with weather; though sometimes when I felt really cold everyone else, and the thermometer, thought it was hot, and other times the exact opposite.

Both my doctor and I believe the cause is Babesia and Bartonella coinfections. I tested positive to the Igenex FISH for Babesia WA1, the west coast variety, and IgG for Bartonella H.
