The news release of western fence lizard cleansing lyme infected ticks, was in 1998. And still no cure. What if I purchased a couple of these common little guys and put a miniature picc line in them and sucked there blood? Just a little every day.
Wouldn't this be similar to the way that the tick does it? What would be the worst that could happen?
Sorry, desperation drives me to such thoughts.

Don't know if I'm kidding or not. Right now I have another idea that I'm looking into and might try.
But, I will keep that scary thought on a back burner for future studying.

the news about the fence lizards--

If I could have caught some --
I would have Eaten them--LOL

The lizards are Lucky I was

I think If I caught them--
I would have crunched them
down whole--

But I tried Licking Frogs
to get High before ---

So that should give you
a clear picture of where
I am comming from---Jay--

We had quite a discussion on this topic back before the turn of the century...

there are those who promote a food as medicine concept, and some of those foods are garlic and oregano and sage also...essential ingredients for a pizza, actually. I postulated that you could make a thin cornmeal crust pizza(to avoid too many carbs) skim milk mozzarella, the aforementioned herbs, and as a final touch, put those little lizards that we have so many of around here on top instead of anchovies.

Problem is the lizards jump off the pizza before I can get it into the oven....

Groovy and Charlie,
You both made me laugh. Feels silly to laugh with no one up here but me. Feels good.
After reading Cave's reply I worried about what is wrong with me, cause I not only would suck the blood of a lizard, I would eat one. Of course it would have to be cooked.
Cave did make me think about new potential risks though. That could be scary. Maybe that lizard never gets pathogens. Maybe, it's a cure for lot's of things. They haven't progressed any on the finding in 1998.
Thanks for the uplift guys.

Well, this is most interesting..... being new here, I had not heard about this....

I'm not sure this is nearly as crazy as it sounds. I mean, people drink their own urine, maggots are still used to deal with gangrene, bee venom is a popular Lyme treatment....

Can't cook the lizards though, as that destroys whatever it is that kills the Lyme bug.

Hey, I would volunteer to sip a little fresh lizard blood from time to time. Of course, if Merck or Pfizer get hold of this, it will cost $30,000 a month.

Does nurse Barbie and Ken have IV supplies? We could use those. Probably the right size. I'm a pretty good stick.
Or we could put ad out for reward for a western fence, if cures us will live life of luxory with dinning on exotic spiders often. Or will set free in Beverly Hills to compete with green gecko guy. Of course I would pay for their acting lessons, only the best.
All kidding aside, it's a study for me on a back burner. Since the medical professionals have failed me for yrs, I feel I have to use my infected brain and help myself.

Well, I'm with you Spooky - I'm just getting started with this Lyme thing (oh not the symptoms - just the diagnosis/treatment/ what-the-heck-do-I-do-now part)...

Speaking of weird ideas, I have been thinking of contacting one of those places that can make up a homeopathic remedy for you by using your own blood. So this type of thinking is right up my alley....

Cave, I think it will have to be lizard sushi to do any good....

I would have to study reptile diseases, get a microscope and adequate food and housing. Purchase the guy. Draw .3mls blood(don't want to hurt him). Put 1 drop under scope and decide if ok (unfortunately, I wouldn't know). Put 1 drop in empty capsule and swallow. Next day 2 drops and so on... Drawing small amt.s occasionally for my supply.
Effects of this could be;
1. Day one- skin hardens and becomes scaly
Day two- heightened hearing ability
Day three- my true colors come out
Day four- Bam! New tail
2. Or I instantly die, leaving all this education
for you.
3. Or become more ill than am (not my pick)
4. Or Bam! Cured. Become rich and famous and live
happily everafter.

I think we all wish that this would work and cure the horrors of these diseases but not sure if we don't need to convince Drs to do the testing just in case.

Some first line researchers that have tried things themselves advanced medicine but died in the process.

But somehow a cure or better protocol must be found...Keep brainstorming..Maybe someone is watching that will take up the cause....lymemomtooo

How big are these lizards?

I was thinking, not only would I grow a tail, I would happily eat one LIVE if it really meant getting rid of Lyme.

I have done MUCH worse things for the medical community to NO avail including:
barium enemas
Upper GI's endocopies
3 surgeries
2 picc lines
almost killed in hospital by IV benedryl
MRI's
X-rays
Nerve conduction studies
EMG's
EKG
blood tests
spinal taps
blood patches
steroid shots
chiropactics
massage therapy
Physical therapy
Juicing foods for a year
epsom salts baths
peroxide baths
shall i continue?

drinking lizard blood doesnt seem that strange in this light does it?

Tails or lyme?

Hi All

It dose not seam that weird to me
eather--

I figure there is something out
there that Indians and settlers
ate to keep from getting Ill--

And threw the years it has been
forgotten and lost--

With a disease that is so Easily
tramsmitted--and the devestation
it brings on--

I cant see lets say a Indian tribe
making Any progress--with Half
of the tribe having Lyme--
The whole tribe would be Toast Quickly--

I kind of think the we will find
the cure to have eating something
with eat inginfected Deer or mice
or something--

So I think maybe try a
deer/mouse/lizard --Kabob---

Here it Texas we call this treat
a DML for short--because it stops
all the weird looks you get when
ordering--

----DML---MMMmmmmmm

--Jay--

I see an empty cave again.

What about this crocidile antidote on another
thread? It is a big lizard, but haven't heard
any break throughs on that like western fence
and Dr. Lane's discovery at Berkeley in 1998.
Wander what the cost?
Wander why california lymies haven't attempted
something? Oh, not much lyme cause of the
lizards.

And groovy--- have you read the Biography of a germ?

It talks about the history of Bb. and how it got to be the spirochete and disease that it is. The theory would mean that Lyme didnt exist in the form it does today when the native americans were here. IT has already changed that quickly but so has the landscape and the people that live here. It is a great book for inquiring minds like the lizard threaders.

For some reason, I think this is hilarious. I'll bet that none of us would have thought of drinking a lizard's blood, or eating it for that matter, before we got lyme disease.

Now, considering what we've been through, and how bad this stuff really is, we all would jump at the chance to do this, if it really helped.

How things change...

Well, it looks like it doesn't work to drink croc blood because they have tried that already, and peptide gets bound up going through the GI tract. (See the "Antimicrobial Peptide..." thread.) [lick]

I assume the same to be true of lizard blood.

So, it's back to the Ken & Barbie IV kit....
[lol]

Has anyone heard of Chelsea Grigery the 18 yr. old in Mi. that did science fair project on eastern fence lizard and mouse with ticks with lyme-like illness officially called Stari and lyme disease?

She discovered that the mouse and the eastern lizard's blood both killed the lyme-like illness Stari and only the eastern fence lizard's blood killed the lyme disease.
She is only one that has researched lizard since Dr. Lane's discovery with western fence in 1998.
And she's only 18.
To check it- type in Chelsea Grigery

I feel a little silly now. After searching on western lizard, I have discovered that western, eastern, northern, and southern fence lizards are the same. They live in broad range in US.
Though, growing up in country don't ever remember seeing one. But don't remember being a kid either.
