Hi Jwenny
I would do a search here on babsesia. Many LLMD's treat according to the symptoms not always by the test results... much like lyme the test for basesia can be inacurate.
I have heard estimates that something like 70% of patienst with lyme have babs too.
There are dozens of strains of babs but currently only blood tests for 2 of them.
take care dana _________________________________________

It is rare for people with Babesia to actually get a positive result. I suspect if that were my doctor, they would be aggressively treating it.

Are you seeing a lyme literate doctor? So many of us would like to have that titer to back up our clinical symptoms. Are you presently taking abx for lyme?
Check and see who other folks in the MD, VA, DC and PA area are seeing.
I think a lyme doctor wouldn't wait.

I am currently being treated for lyme (400 mg/day doxy)...about a month now. He wants to see how much improvement before giving me mepron/zith... if there is no improvement then it verifies babs. if said, there is little risk to wait 3 more weeks. I found my LLMD through doctor referrals at this site...seemed to have good comments.
Everyone, thanks for all your great responses.
Get well!
