I have a friend that has developed large purple rashes on her lower legs..Covers most of each leg from the knee to ankle..Some on the stomach and then acne type rash on upper back, neck and face.
She has worked in a vet office for years and has been tested for tick borne diseases and really is sure it can't be that..However I reminded her of the accuracy of the tests..
She has had her case studied at a dermatology convention and they can not figure it out..
A few months ago she was treated for cancer and now, thank God is ok and she is not taking any meds.
I wondered about some blood thing maybe some type of reaction from babesosis..I also told her I was sure she needed to detox to help with the drainage of whatever it is and she seemed interested to at least go with lemon in water..
I am hoping that some of you that are more knowledgeable have an idea..I have looked at past posts and rashes and none are close to the intensity and size.
Thanks for any help..lymemomtooo

That is exactly the rash I had starting last July that led to my Lyme diagnosis.
The first biopsy came back as "granuloma anularae". My dermo wasn't satisfied, requested slides himself. He thought it was vasculitis. Took another biopsy (and paid for it!) and sent to 3 labs, no one could figure it out. He ran the ELISA test on me, and I was positive for Lyme.
He also took poloroids and gave them to me, which I gave my LLMD. He calls it a Lyme rash, something like a granuloma majorale or something. I googled it but couldn't find it.
I had it on both my shins from ankle almost to knee, and on the inside of the lower legs as well.
I have one very small patch on my hand which my LLMD is watching through my progress to see if it goes away.
My legs didn't hurt or itch, but it was raised and purple and ugly, would last 3 weeks, fade away and peel off, then start again.
I wish your friend the best of luck, Jill

Jill..thanks so very much..Is there any possibility of you still having a copy of the photos..It would be more convincing than just telling her..Since she is so sure it can't be lyme and if it is she needs some type of treatment.
Lyme, Bart and Babs are all in our local area.
The tests were negative and she has been seen by many Drs and dermatologists..I would be very grateful for any help..lymemomtooo

Sorry, I gave them to my LLMD. I Googled rashes to see if I could see one that was similar, but no luck. I will try again later, and if I find one, I will PM you.
Take Care, Jill

Thanks Jill..I gathered tons of info and rashes for her but not sure she will ever accept that it might be lyme or a co-infection..lymemomtooo

Other than the rash, does she have any other sx that might be indicative of Lyme? The presence of a rash can be caused by tons of different things.
Does her rash itch or is it painful?
I'm sorry, I wish I could be of more help.
