Just wondering if any of you got tested for lyme and coinfections at IgeneX while on ABXs? How did that ABXs impact your results? I want to get tested but don't want my treatment to stop.
Thanks and best wishes!

I guess the main reason I want to get tested is .... right now I'm taking meds for both Bb and Babs but not sure if I have Bb. I tested negative 3 times for Bb (one of the test was western blot with all negative bands). However, I did test positive for Babs (IgM of 1-64). I'm still not positive if I have lyme since there is so much overlap in symptoms. Some of my main symptoms is night sweats, chest tightness/discomfort, and tremors (mainly hands, jaw). I don't have a lot of the type of pains associated with Bb such as joint. I'm just very curious about this.

I do NOT agree that you have to be off ABX to be tested again. I have been tested every 12 - 18 weeks via WB and all coinfection tests and have never stopped treatment. Do not stop treatment without talking to your doctor.
Did you get tested for Bartonella and Ehrlichia as well?

i would NOT go off abx just to have a test that is so unreliable done. i was off for 13 days for another infection and it came roaring back worse then ever.
I would ask your LLMD. but from experience both times i was on abx and tested thru other labs came back negative across the board.

But my babs symptoms came on awfully quick...and my biggest fear is what cangiveupyet says... the symptoms might come back worst than ever if I stop ABXs

The second time I was tested, I was on abx, and my Drs said that I didn't need to stop abx in order to test. I plan on being retested for Lyme and coinfections again in May, and I'm not stopping abx for it.
Like you, I wouldn't stop abx either. The one time I had to stop abx bec of liver toxicity, I really lost ground to Bb. I could feel myself getting weaker almost daily. Don't want to do that again.

I was tested about 2 months ago and I had been on ABX for about 4-5 months. IgM has quite a few IND bands and one + band, it was very nearly positive. IgG was positive with 31++, 34IND, 39IND, 41++, 66+.

My LLMD had me take a break for 3 weeks from ABX for another set of WB and infection panels after about 6 months of treatment. Never again, by the 2 week I was crying for ABX. We did see addtional bands come up positive
His rational for the break was to see if addtional bands came up in order to provide addtional proof for insurance coverage for IV therapy.
