My ears and jaw have hurt since I got Lyme. The last few weeks my teeth started to hurt.

Yesterday an area of my jaw, just in front of my ear became extemely tender and painful to the touch. Today a lump developed there. It is very sensitive and tender if I touch it. The pain isn't too bad if I don't touch it. It feels a little different than usual inside my ear.

Has anyone else had this. I'm wondering if it is some sort of cyst. It wasn't there yesterday but is getting bigger today.

Over the last month I have had some really sharp pains deep in my ears. It made me think the antibiotics are getting to the lyme deep inside my ear/jaw. Symptoms/pains always seem to get worse right before they go away.

It could be a swollen lymph node.

Could be caused by anything from a routine ear infection to Bartonella.

Is your throat sore or do you have any sinus symptoms?

What meds are you on?

In children I have read that ear infections are frequently caused by a lack of good bacteria (acidophilus) in the G.I. tract. The eustachian tubes drain into the throat I think. Do you have any symptoms of a yeast problem?

Could it be an absessed tooth?

Try a heating pad on the ear and jaw area to see if that helps with pain.

Really need to get to the bottom of this and not just ignore it.

This is just my opinion and not medical advice.

Throat & sinuses are fine. It only hurts when I touch it. There is just a slight ache there otherwise, but that part of me has hurt slightly for a long time.

Any other ideas, anyone?

It is most likely a spot under the skin or a small cyst..Lyme causes lumps around the ears I think. I get spots in this area , some that never come to the surface, jsut disappear.

I had a cyst behind my ear too for a few weeks then it disappeared. My LLMD said it was nothing to be worried about.

If it doesn't go away ask your LLMD.
