I was listening to the radio this morning and they were talking about Mother's Day and a mom called in crying because she said her 8 years old son has RA.
Can it possibly be lyme disease?
My heart just felt sick and I even thought about calling the radio station to see if I could get in touch with her but I thought I'd ask you guys first.

Could be, thats how the disease got its name. Its should be looked at if it has not been done already.

YES! call the radio station back and see if you can have the DJ announce something at a certain timegiving your info....could be lyme disease and to call you or email for more info.
Now that Dad passed away 5 years ago, I've done a lot of mind searching, and I feel he has had LYME since age 7-9!
He had severe juvenile arthritis. His folks took him to Mud Bath or Springs, Minn. I believe he said he was there for 30 days until they got his body working again.
All his later symptoms are lyme. Twice in his life he was paralyzed from the neck down with rare diseases. Twice her RECOVERED and could walk/work a normal life!
Yes, take the initiative in trying to contact this Mom.

I have been diagnosed with Lyme and with RA and yes, the doctors believe the lyme is the cause of the RA and once the lyme is gone, the RA will be too.

40 years ago, somewhen between age 8 and 10 I got diagnosed with juvenile rheumatism. Later I started having swollen lymph nodes, then constant UTIs, then panik and depression and the list goes on endlessly.
I'm 100% sure that my "juvenile rheumatism" was Lyme and nothing else.
This mother should have her kid checked for Lyme in any case.
