OK... I need some serious help here. I've been on IV Primaxin for 3 weeks now, with no problems. I just started/added IV Clindamycin on top of the Primaxin, and I am sooooo itchy. I don't know if it's the Clinda, or what, but there is not a spot on my body that doesn't itch, and I use incredible hulk type force (not on purpose) to itch it, therefore, leaving myself covered in scrathes,

It's so frustrating. I've been so sick for the past couple weeks, caught in a horrible herx, and now I just can't stop itching. I want to scream so bad. I can not function. I tried to open our mini blinds this afternoon and I snapped them in half?????? I tried to trun the light off on our ceiling fan, and about pulled the thing out of the ceiling. I'm scaring myself.

My sight is all but gone, as in, over the weekend, I've gone partially blind and have to sit right in fornt of things to see them.

I had an emergency endoscop done on Friday ebcause I stopped breathing on Thursday and my LLMD's office is full of angels who wer able to get me in to see a great guy, who couldn't find any reason for my problems swallowing, or breathing. He took tissue from my stomach, and I feel like someone went in there with a cheese grater,

I'm counting down the hours until everyone's offices open, and I can schdedule appointments and get some questions anwered, But, I already know the just of it.... It's just the lyme. I absolutely hate hearign that, and I understand that this is a complex disease that viciously attcaks your ystem, but It breaks my heart when I hear that it's the Lyme diease.

I'm babbling, and about to start throwing up again... so let me re-ask..... Anyone go through the itchiness and have advice?

ap,

Husband recommended rubbing alcohol for me, and it HELPS TREMENDOUSLY. keep it by you; you start itching, saturage the area good...especially the edges.

It helped clear up my rash/itch in 2 days vs. 1-2 weeks! cheap!!

Best wishes on all that is going on with you; doesn't sound good. My thoughts & prayers going out your way.

It can be a herx (reaction to killed bugs). Some people herx with itching. I certainly do.

With allergy you could see some changes on your skin. Some doctor saw your skin, I suppose to exclude drug reaction.
Too much of itching - reduce your Clinda for a few days. Herx indicates that abx works.

I itch severly when I have high yeast. I know that it is yeast for me because I only get this itching all over sensation when I have cheated on my diet and it goes away as soon as I get it under control..... Just a thought

Itching almost always means an allergic reaction. I developed this the second time my dr. put me on Rocephin and had to stop. It was the very same symptom you are describing- itching sensation everywhere, without a rash.

It's actually common to develop an allergy to a drug especially when used the second time around.

The itchies were a combination of allergies from all of the pollen and the Clindamycin setteling in to my system it all subsided, and left me with the rashes the I was forwarned about at the doctors office. I feel like a real freak now.
