I was dxed with Lyme at the Fibro and Fatigue Center in Atlanta. Well my insurance has changed and won't pay for anything from there at all and that includes abx so I can't go there anymore.

Now I need to make an appt to see my internist and tell her I went to this other dr. at this ctr. and got this dx. I am afraid to death she is going to tell me either chronic lyme doesn't exist or that 2 weeks of abx will do the job.

Does anyone have any helpful hints what I should have prepared for the visit? I have my igenex results - cdc negative, igenex ind. But I am so sure this is what I have.

I am not a nutbag. I am just so scared. Not only do I have to feel like crap most of the time physically but then I've been bumped from dr. to dr.; i've totally lost faith in the medical profession.

Help!
Cutie

Join the "club"...I agree with your assessment of the medical profession [in general].

Why don't you arm yourself with things from the www.ilads.org site [hope that is the right URL].

Go to Treepatrol's links on the first page of Medical and run off stuff to take to your dr.

Keep reading here tonight so you are armed with information.

Head up and don't back down! You deserve treatment for Lyme!

hi cutie

This is a situation facing many of us on this board including myself.

You may want to go to the newbie section and print out Dr. B's guide. It is a very good protocal to follow.

Good luck and try not to panic. Trying to find someone else may take some time. But is not hopeless.

Some people even luck out with their Gyn's who are savy about lyme.

In 1995 I found a cardiologist to treat me for lyme.

Take care

Dana reminded me of something. Take someone with you....preferrably a male!

yes, print out TREEPATROL'S NEWBIE LINKS & dR. B'S 05 lyme treatment guidelines.

Then look at Tree's sites ... there is something there about FREE MEDS; read that one carefully.

I agree w/Tutu; take a male w/you ... don't let them BS you and take advantage of you.
YOU control the situation as much as possible.
