A friend of mine just took an antibiotic, tetracyclene, I think for a rash on her face, Rosacea. Anyway, while on this she is now experiencing joint pains and brain fog. Sounds like she should get a Lyme test I would think ? BTW she lives in the pine flats of New Jersey.

Does your friend have a history of Rosacea? If not, the rash may have been misdiagnosed.

Why not ask your friend to join the board and post her other symptoms if she has any or a picture if she has one?

Definitely sounds suspicious.

First I would call the pharmisist to make sure it is not a possible side effect of the abx.

Then I would tell her to find a llmd. Maybe she has it maybe she doesn't. But the first step to finding out is a llmd.

I'm from a piney area of NJ. I dont have any trees in my front yard but it is responsible for at least 2 infections (produced bullseye).

My backyard has one tree and is responsible for at least 1 infection (produced bullseye).

Its tick country round these parts.

Best wishes

Yes, I would recommend a western blot IGM/IGG done by Igenex blood test be done on your friend.

Rosaea, sp, is also a symptom of LUPUS of which I've been diagnosed 3 times with that but nothing ever done.

Glad your friend has a GOOD friend looking after her health interests. Pat yourself on the back; GOOD JOB MtnMomma! [group hug] [kiss]

I have had lyme disease that went undiagnosed for 18 years and didn't know I had arthritis until I went on minocycline!
