Here is my medical question.is lyme disease and coinfections on the rise? or just more easiely diagnosed now....does anyone have scientific data to show the actual rise in infection or is it just a rise in diagnosis?
And (the main part of my question!)..Are we really 9500 STRONG on this board??? Is that number steadly increasing? And at what rate?...
If so,.. we should really be able to rally and do some advocacy...nine thousand five hundred people is ALOT!!!...ALOT... of PEOPLE!
Are there really this many here???.....OR... do a few people use MANY different ALIAS's???
You would think if we are nine THOUSAND five HUNDRED strong we would really have a herd and a half at RALLYS!!!

LOL no one has the energy to go rally because of the lyme!
I have no alias here. What you "see" is what you get.

[have no idea if numbers are increasing due to diagnosis or just more ticks and more disease]
The 9,500 would be anybody and everybody who has ever registered here. MANY have left and gone to other boards, got well, or just lurk.
I would GUESS we have only a 1,000 here at most. I'm sure we also have that many lurkers!!

Daniella, Over the years, alot of people have left, and come back with a different name. Sometimes there was a problem with the password, so they registered again.
Some got banned, and reregistered with a different name.
Some of the accounts were registered by trolls, who badgered us for a while, then left.
I looked through the directory once, and noticed many accounts where the person had registered, and then never posted.

Daniella, here is what I can tell you about the last 30+ days I have been sending ALL newbies a PM, private message, with my newbie links/info of 11 pages.
There are between 10-20 NEW folks signing up daily. In the last 2 days, 2 newbies signed up with 2 nicknames ... don't know if it was intentional or it was hard for them to understand how to do this.
We've gone up at least 600 - 800 folks since I started going to the DIRECTORY at the top to see who has signed up today ... found in the right hand column of latest 5 users!
In general, I hope folks will go to the post by Ann-Ohio, SOME SAD NEWS. The female Dr. who died was because she had lyme for 15 years. This lyme Mom's oldest daughter, Lynn, came on today to post about her Mom.
So please send Lynn a PM so she knows THIS LYME FAMILY who have never met her Mom feel the pain this family is going through ok.
Her Mom/family had memorial money sent to SE Penn. Lyme disease assn.
From what I'm seen on here; at the most 100 different posters/repliers per week and countless LURKERS especially during the recent Health Dept. hearings of Dr. Jones & Dr. Jemsek.
If we HAD 9660 ACTIVE members, and if each sent $5.00 for Dr. Jones' legal defense; the $50,000 would be obtained with the other funds sent!

WOW UNBELIEVABLE info on there TUTU!!! THanks..
BUT I am still wondering what these trends are..ANd why does New York have so many cases? Is it because the known LYME dr's are in these states? I thought they reported for whatever state the patient is from? Or do they just report them as from their sate?..donno
