My first visit with LLMD he would not test me for co-infections - said maybe down the road.
And would it not be better to have this testing done before starting antibiotics. He has prescribed 3000mg amoxicillin. I have not started it yet as I am trying to figure this out.
I am wondering who I can get to do these tests Any ideas?
MY PCP has refused as well. What about an infectious disease MD?

Most infectious disease drs do NOT believe in treating lyme past 4 wks. They also will not use Igenex labs.
I would find another LLMD as soon as possible, as this one may not work out. I read a statistic that said 85% of Lyme patients have coinfections...so not testing and treating for them is not in the patient's best interest!!!!

Great idea, wish I had a chiropractor to begin with.
Maybe you are right that I cannot afford NOT to find another LLMD..

Co-infection testing is critial. It saved my life.
What is "down the road", next month, two months, next year? Depends on what the answer is and if your LLMD actually has a plan.
An LLMD is not an LLMD if they don't believe in co-infections.

Once you get someone to order the co-infection testing, make sure you send it to one of our BEST LYME/CO-INFECTION LABS! Igenex, MD labs, or Bowen Bettyg

You know, most tests for coinfections are not any better than the lyme tests. My own babs test came out "borderline"...but when my dr treated me for babs, WHAM! I herxed terribly!! I definitely benefited from treatment.
So the real issue is WILL THIS DR treat YOU FOR COINFECTIONS?

This is precisely why some LLMDs are not gung-ho testers. They follow the approach that it's better to treat based on clinical signs and symptoms, not unreliable lab results. They apply this to Lyme AND coinfections. People who are seronegative for Lyme or can't afford constant tests love this approach. Other patients want a lot of tests for a variety of reasons. That's why the choice of LLMD is so personalized.
