I had been taking melatonin for sleep about the same time my nausea started. Not saying this is the cause but I have stopped taking it and will see.
Went to google and was shocked at how many sites I found that say nausea is a side effect of melatonin.

perhaps if you cut the pills in half it will bother you less.
i usually wake after about 4 hours, even with a higher dose, so I take another 1/2 mg if i wake 3 hours or more before morning.

I take 2 mg a night and haven't had any problems. Then again, any stomach issues these days are being blamed on the abx I started last week, but I had started the melatonin first and didn't have any complaints.
I actually wake up ready to move now and am able to get up earlier than I have ever been able to in my adult life. The quote in my signature no longer applies!

I take 1/2 to 1 mg a night, though I haven't been able to find that strength in time-release form.
Like Lou, I sometimes wake up, but at least I've slept soundly.
Never had any stomach trouble with it.

Thanks very much for your replys. I really appeciate it.
I guess not too many people have experienced this side effect. I guess maybe it varies per person.
I am a little less nauseated but not sure if it is from stopping the melatonin or starting the nexium.
In the future when things settle down, maybe I can go back & try it at 1.5mg.
Thanks again

Maybe you're sensitive to it. Hold onto your hats.........I take 9mg a night!!!!!
Actually, I need to cut back and see if my sleeping is still OK. I'm sleeping very well now, and was able to dump the Ambien about 6 mo ago.
Now it's time to dump the melatonin??

I take 3mg per night. It is sustained release by source naturals. No nausea.

You might want to try another brand before you decide it is the melatonin.
If you are taking tablets, it could be the coating on it that is making you feel ill. I have run across a few supplements like that, and when I changed brands, I did fine. (I confess, melatonin was not one of them.)
I use Mmlatonin lozenges so I don't have to drink any water (Vitamin Shoppe brand, 3 mg.)
