Ali,

Hopefully, you were able to sleep off the worst of the pain. I'm sorry to hear you were having to go through that -- I had similar pain when I first started taking rifampin.

Actually, the only thing that helped me then was cranial sacral massage. That was able to relieve some of the worst pain and pressure. It just left me with a dull ache, and I lived with that until finally the pain diminished.

I know this isn't very helpful, but that kind of headache had me stumped.

Again, hope you're feeling better when you read this.

Andie

Ali,

Do you have any prescription pain medications? If you get this type of pain often, you should really consider medication to help cut the pain.

I'm currently trying supplements to help control my pain, but I have to tell you that they don't come near the Vicodin when the pain is intense.

I had a migraine once, when I was stupid enough to get a spray tan. It sounds like that might be what you have going on. I just needed to crawl into my bed.

Hope you wake up feeling much better!! If you have migraines often, YES...get some migraine meds. They work without knocking you out.

I'm back with just a dull aching grog.
I'm much better.

Thank you all so much for your concern.
I've had this before, but not for quite sometime.

Unfortunately, I left myself disorganized when I came back from my Dr. appt & wasn't prepared to cope.

I also wasn't paying attention to the pain in the back of my neck.

I've found that I think it averts them, when I have that pain starting, if I take

2 rapid release X-strength tylenol
2 ibuprophen
coffee

I think that's why I haven't been getting them, but who really knows??

I used to put icepacks on my head and neck and the pillow over that, when I used to get them more frequently.

I remembered the coffee and ice packs at the last minute, on my way to bed.

I slugged down my cold cup of coffee and grabbed the packs. I forgot about the ibuprophen.
Maybe I didn't really need it with the B-12/complex.

I thought I remembered something from someone elses post about B-12, I guess maybe that helped too.

Everyone else who has these headaches, you have my deepest sympathy. I hope some of what seemed to help me today might help you, too.

Thanks again for all of your help and your kind thoughts and well wishes.

[Big Grin]
Ali

PS-I'm sorry if I was carrying on like a big baby, drama queen. Thanks for being so kind. [kiss]

Oh, Ali --

HUGS!!! I know a lot of us get those headaches -- I did for years -- still do occasionally, though far less severe. Yes, sounds like a migraine -- (or, for me, it has then turned into meningitis a few times.) Migraine meds generally do help me, esp. if I have vicodin, too --- if both of those fail completely, I know I'm headed into meningitis/meningoencephalitis -- which is days upon days of sheer agony. The only thing I've found that helps that is anti-inflammatories and ice on the back of the neck and head. Next time, (if there IS a next time) my LLNP says she can give me something to knock me out for a day or two until it passes.

I've been doing a LOT better with the head pain since being treated for babs -- pretty sure that was a good deal of the problem for me.

Ali, my heart goes out to you; used to have them bad.

If you wear RX glasses, have your lenses checked; my axis gets OFF, and it's migraine time for me. So I take in ALL 4 sets of RX lenses to make sure ALL AXIS are correct. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Bettyg [Big Grin]

Thanks for the new stuff, Betty & Mini.

I'm just curious, Betty, were you ever treated for Babs?

They haven't determined whether I still have it, though they know I had it in the past.

My vision in my left eye is really bad, but I don't have glasses.

I couldn't handle the contact lense the stupid dr made me get. I kept falling asleep and waking up feeling like I was punched in the eye.

She wouldn't give me glasses, because of the dif in thickness, she said they would give me headaches.

I'd really like to know if they'll go away with Babs treatment!!!!! [Smile] That would be great!

The two of you made me think & I just checked my vision. I thought the Doxy was starting to improve it a little. It's just as lame now as it ever was.
