I would like to know how sarsaparilla has helped you with detox and what your experience was like.
Do you initially feel worse before it begins to help ? How much do you take?
My understanding is that it does not kill lyme, but instead works by binding to the endotoxins of lyme from the dieoff of bacteria. Any personal experience you can share will be valued .

Hi Jennifer, I am sorry to say that sarsaparilla did not help me at all, not even after a few months of taking it. I know others have posted that it has helped them. I've tried a few things, but the only detoxing agent that seems to work at all for me is chlorella, and I must always take it with a digestive enzyme, otherwise it kills my GI tract.

sasparilla has been banned by the fda since before 2000 and the ban was reinstated last year. it is considered carcinogenic,that's why there hasn't been sarparilla soda for many many years. root beer still availble ,but not sarsparilla

"Sasparilla" is NOT the same as "sarsaparilla", from what I understand. So let's not confuse the issue here. Sasparilla was once used to flavor drinks such as root beer, and sarsaparilla was also used in root beer, but only for foaming action as it has very little taste at all.

All I can tell you about sarsaparilla is that I ordered some sarsaparilla tea and I've only tried it once - it made me very nauseous. However, regular iced tea makes me feel sick, too, so I may not be a good person to comment on this.

I take many, many herbs, and they HAVE helped me considerably with this Lyme thing. I have my life back for the most part.
IF I had to give up ALL my herbs, but two, they would be Devils Claw and Sarsaparilla.
Sarsaparilla, among other things, is an excellent blood cleanser.
BUT, it is important to use OTHER herbs, also, to DETOX. Be sure to use both Milk Thistle AND Red Root tincture. They are imperative in keeping your LYMPH system working properly when killing off the parasites, etc..
Sarsaparilla, has many other good properties, also. READ about them in the Healing Lyme book.
I do take the sarsaparilla, never had a problem with it. I find it difficult do decide whether and how much it helped, because I take it together with other herbs (some recommented by Buhner + some other herbs).
I use the dose recommodation by Buhner, but make infusions out of the herbs.

Yes, it is Grape Seed Extract with high levels of flavonoid polyphenols, ellagic acid, and resveratrol. Antioxidants in abundance. Lower cholesterol, fight cancer, clear toxins, etc., etc., etc.

I too took other herbs than what BUhner recommended. I still do. However, we MUST be careful as to WHAT herbs we mix. I got into trouble doing it.
I have since stopped some of the herbs I was taking as they were HOT herbs, and Buhner recommends COLD and/or neutral herbs. The effectiveness of the COLD herbs can be compromised by HOT herbs. HOT and COLD make WHAT? Lukewarm, right?

Does cold herbs have less of a chance of "****ing off" the bacteria?
Buhner talks all the time about how he's less concerned with killing spirochetes and mroe concerned with recovering the body and finding a peaceful middle ground with the bacteria (all while building up the immune system to handle it itself)
He isn't into stirring up the buggers
