I am running out of choices to treat yeast. Diflucan doesnt cut it anymore, cant take most other prescription ones.
Tried Oil of Oregano, had breating problems.Want to try Olive leaf extract, but some things I read said not to use while on antibiotics because it decreased antibiotics effectiveness.
Other articles said no drug interactions.Anyone taking it while on antibiotics? What about spacing of it with antibiotics and probiotics?
Help? Cindy

My doctor put me on Cumanda to fight the yeast, because I was no longer responding to the antifungal meds. It has eliminated my thrush.
Cumanda is an herb that is part of the Samento protocol. One of the benefits is that it is supposed to kill Lyme along with yeast.

Olive leaf works well for me for yeast & I believe lyme to. I do sometimes herx from it.
* I would check with your doc just to be sure it doesn't interfer with any meds you are on

My LLMD has had me go on olive leaf extract a couple of different times - I'm on it now, and he has never cautioned about interaction with abx.
Do you take garlic? Garlic was the only thing that worked for me to get candida under control, long before Lyme.
I tend to take any supplement or herb several hours away from abx just as a rule of thumb.

I think that it's alright as long as you keep it as far away from abx as you can. I take it 4 hrs away myself. I did read somewhere that there could be some possible interference.
There are so many "POSSIBLE" things that could potentially interfere. I don't think that anyone really knows for sure. And if you find a Dr that is sure, it's for sure that you can find another Dr that will swear that it's fine. Like it's not already hard enough to fight this crap without having to deal with so many different opinions.

My LLMD did caution me about using olive leaf extract with abx. He said to take it away from them, that they did infact interfere with absorbtion.

OK, Thanks everyone. I will try it and take it as far away fronm antibiotics as possible. I am now on so many meds at different times!
I can hardly find another time to add something else. Is it OK to take the Olive Leaf extract at the same time as probiotics? Cindy

I did not get enough help from any of the natural or drug remedies I tried, until I took Cumanda. It packs a real herx punch, so if you try it, go slowly.
