Hey guys.. . I am 24 and I have recently within the last year developed severe acne.

Before lyme I had gorgeous long hair and flawless skin. Now my hair stopped growing and is breaking off along with severe acne.

I have these huge cysts that pop up and I don't know what it's from.
I have tried all kinds of over the counter stuff along with a trip to my dermo.
I have also done cleanses

Any help would be great it really affects my self esteem . .not that it's possible to get much worse.

Thanks in advance
Heather

Heather.

I sent you a PM earlier today about Blastocystis Hominis. Did you get it?

Seriously, I have taken everything from accutane to minocycline, and although accutane worked the best, if you are sick you can absolutely not take it. but proactiv, the stuff you buy on tv really works the best after accutane.

And I have had acne for 20 years.

Sorry you are having trouble with this.

My hair has gotton much oilier lately.

My daughter, who also has lyme is having the same problem plus acne.

Hopefully someone will come along with some good suggestions for you.

I have noticed that my lyme symptoms including the greasiness wax and wane and get better over time.

I've always had bad skin, even since before I was a teenager (12 maybe, the acne started?). We suspect I've had lyme since at least the age of 16, and I'm 22 now. I still have much worse acne then I'd like. Prior to my lyme treatment I took doxycycline and ampicillin for acne and nothing has really "worked". I've done just about everything except for Accutane.

My case might be different than yours because my skin was never great, even before my diagnosis. However, Proactiv does help a bit. I hate feeling like I have to stay on top of it every day, however.
