Has anyone had their vitamin B6 levels checked? I had mine checked a year ago and just last week and both times it has been high. I do not take B6 supplements at all.
Any thoughts as to what might be causing this? I looked on the internet and it said that high levels of B6 can cause peripheral neuropathy symptoms. I have these symptoms but we have thought that they are caused by lyme. So now this adds a curveball...
Any thoughts at all would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks, David

David,
High B6 levels could mean that your body isn't properly processing the B vitamins.
This could be related to a shortage of amino acids. My doctor who is treating my amino acid deficiency uses Labcorp's test, it's a 24 hour urine catch.
I can't remember if my B6 was high, but I remember him saying with my low amino acids, I'm probably not processing the B6 or B12.

Aniek- You might be right that my body is not properly processing the B vitamin.
Does anyone know what type of doctor deals with issues such as this one? I would like to see if we can figure out the reason why this is happening. I had a high level of vit b6 before I started treatment for lyme and a year later I still have an elevated amount.
Cantgiveupyet- I haven't spoken to the LLMD yet about this but maybe he can direct me to someone who might be able to help.
Thanks everyone for any ideas!
