In the past few days my legs have felt very heavy, and are difficult to move. I am wondering if it is due to heavy metal detoxing.

For background, I've been sick for 2-1/2 years; my symptoms have been in my head (headache plus cognitive and psychological issues), and fatigue and insomnia.

I exercise and stretch regularly, working on my legs, knees and feet as well as the rest of my body. However, I usually walk a few times a week, lately because of the weather it's only been around once a week.

In early December, I had 2 amalgam fillings removed and have been using chlorella, cilantro tincture, detox tea, water, Alpha Lipoic Acid and sarsparilla for detoxing. I have been using the cilantro 1 week on, 2 weeks off. Just started the "on" phase around the same time my legs started feeling weird.

Also, since I started this regimen, my head has felt a little more pressurized than usual.

Does anyone know what's going on? Is this just normal for detox or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks!!

P

I don't know about heavy metals, but my legs used to feel that way...like they were made of lead...when I was much worse w/Lyme. At least for myself, I think it was related to the profound weakness, fatigue, and loss of energy that was caused by Lyme disease.

As I got better on abx, this has improved along w/most everything else.

Are you on abx?

Getting well from Lyme is an extremely slow process, and can be quite frustrating. I remember feeling that I'd never feel normal again, but I'm starting to get close. It's only taken close to 1.5 years worth of abx to get here, but I think I'm starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for your reply, psano. I'm glad you're feeling better.

Yes, I was on abx for 1-1/2 years, lots of combos for Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella. Also did Buhner's protocol and am now trying the Vitamin C/Salt protocol.

I remember that 'heavy leg' feeling all too well. It was part of my CFS 'package.' For me, the only thing that helped was resting them, by laying down. Sitting didn't help.

I know that Selma (Hardynaka) was doing that protocol with a certain amount of intensity (and struggle). But I think she was pleased in the end. You might PM her.

Also, if there is metal toxicity, the footpads might help. They are not too expensive... like $1.00 per pad? They can be used at night. Most people spoke very favorably about it on a recent thread (December?).

Take care,

Claire
