I am having a very hard time with headaches, in fact I am getting shots at my doctors office 2-3 times a week for pain, and taking pain pills in between. I am starting IV abx on wed. and am worried it's going to get worse. Right now I am on oral.
What due you all do for pain? Any ideas to help? Also is it nomarl with mymes to have problems sleeping? I can't fall alseep due to pain, and my mind no shuting off, put at the smae time I am so worn out. My muscle hurt so much I find myself sitting in the bath tub for hours in the middle of the night to try to get them to relax to sleep. Is this a normal thing with lymes.
I just went to a LLMD finally last week, who beleive I have had lyme's for 9-10 years. I was put on oral doxy this last summer, and now am going to start IV.
I have had my gal bladder removed, two heart surgeries, pacemaker, stmoach problems, been DX with POTS, NCS/NMS, ..... I had to quit working a year ago as I could no longer walk very far, I was passing out all the time, and so on. I have no life... The LLMD said everything has been casued by the lymes. That I have a late stage if Lymes.
How long does it take to start seeing improvment. With a latter stage of Lymes how much improvment do you see? Can you make a full recovery?
Also why is it when looking into information on "chronic Lymes"there are so many differnt opions from the CDC... to doctors, there doesn't seem to be any clear treatments, also they seem to ask like we should just get better. If all my problems where caused by the lymes how can they say we should get better after 30-day of treatment.
Sorry for going on I am just learning really about lymes, and am confussed the more I read about it!
Thanks for reading, any info would be great!
With treatment what kind of improvement

amy, no 2 lymies are alike; each one's body works so differently so abx work for one; but not another and same with supplements/holistic treatments.
amy, there are many more posts; these are a few i got using search above typing in headache pain in medical, body text, any date, and hit enter!
go to general and read SUCCESS STORIES; they are out there. we've just to go to hell and back before we see progress.
to many of questions; i'd say almost ALL are YES, lyme has caused this and that. good luck reading; home they answer a lot of your questions ok. good luck on iv on wed!

Hi LookingForHope,
So sorry to hear you are dealing with all this, but you have come to a good place for information.
Yes, headache is quite common with Lyme disease, probably the most common symptom in patients with a long-term infection. And sleep phase shift (awake at night, fatigued during the day) is also quite common.
My son was recommended to drink some milk and avoid caffeine before bedtime (didn't do much) and to take over-the-counter melatonin (worked) to promote sleepiness.
Try to keep a log of your symptoms, and talk to your LLMD about those that you feel you need help with. Not getting enough sleep can contribute to making pain worse, and chronic pain can really wreck your quality of life. Perhaps he can prescribe something to help you feel better while under treatment.
Take care, Shaz

Have you been treated for Babesiosis- headaches DO happen with Lyme but more often are Babesiosis!!!
