I received this E-mail from a Doctor. The last case involves a Lyme Vaccine pulled from the market. You may want to tell others about that case in particular. I left the rest of the medications in the post if others want to check the risks with their medications closer.

The following is the Doctors opinion.
Friends here is a sobering list of drugs who have had such adverse effects that their makers (and prescribers) are being sued. The suits are so frequent that they have been lumped into class action suits. These suits are granted relative press censorship by the press so as not to risk having us legal prescription drug users start to lose confidence in this huge industry (Pfizer alone has an annual financial statement larger than Sweden.) Let the buyer, the consumer of these dangerous synthetic chemicals, and the prescriber beware. Gary.
Neurontin alleging a high incidence of suicide attempts while taking Neurontin. Celexa allegedly contributing to violent behavior and suicide. Lexapro for allegedly promoting violent behavior and suicide. Luvox for allegedly inducing violent behavior and suicide. Paxil for allegedly inducing violence and suicide. Zoloft for allegedly inducing violent behavior and suicide. Serzone for allegedly inducing violent behavior and suicide attempts. Remeron for allegedly inducing violent and suicidal behavior. Avandia alleging side effects including headache, weight gain and serious heart problems. Enbrel for alleged side effects including serious blood problems, allergic reactions and seizures. Bextra for alleged side effects including stomach ulcers and liver damage. Baycol alleging side effects including kidney damage and adverse muscle reactions. Reglan for alleged side effects such as tardive dyskinesia. Risperdal allegedly puts elderly patients at risk for stroke or diabetes. Glaxo Wellcome Lotronex Accutane for allegedly causing severe side effects including birth defects, damage to the liver, kidneys, central nervous system, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract, cardiovascular system, musculosketal system, and the auto-immune system of the human body, depression and suicidal ideation. Vioxx and Celebrex for alleged damage to kidneys. Meridia for alleged side effects including heart attack. Neurontin alleging the manufacturer improperly marketed the drug for uses not approved by the FDA. Price Fixing alleging major corporations have engaged in price fixing, and are costing you money. Baycol for alleged severe muscle reactions. Zyprexa allegedly contributing to diabetes and hyperglycemia. Lariam, an anti-malaria drug, for serious side effects, including suicide, hallucinations, paranoid delusions and severe depression... Adalat, for alleged side affects. Purdue Pharma and Abbott Laboratories alleged OxyContin addiction and withdrawal. Anthrax vaccine for allegedly contributing to an increase in brith defects. Ativan for alleged addictive qualities. Arava, a prescription arthritis drug (leflunomide) manufactured by Aventis, has allegedly caused severe liver complications including death. Benzodiazepine for alleged debilitating side effects and long term addictiveness. Cytotec (Misoprostol) for allegedly causing uterine hyperstimulation and uterine rupture in some women, when used to induce labor. Duract, prescribed for acute pain management, for allegedly causing severe hepatic (liver) failure with prolonged use. Enbrel/Entanercept, a drug prescribed for rheumatoid arthritis, for alleged serious blood reactions and nervous system disorders. Fen-Phen, Redux and Pondimin (American Home Products) for alleged heart valve damage or primary pulmonary hypertension from the use of these drugs. Hydroquinone topical cream (Glades Pharmaceuticals) for alleged chemical scalding and burning when applied to face. Human/GE Insulin (Eli Lilly) for promoting the use of human and genetically engineered insulin which allegedly may be harmful, and suppressing production of beef or pork insulin. HRT (hormone replacement therapy) (American Home Products - Wyeth-Ayerst) for alleged misrepresentations used to sell HRT. Inapsine (Droperidol) that allegedly causes torsades de pointes, at times leading to death, and symptomatic arrhythmia associated with a prolonged QT interval. Lamisil (Novartis Pharmaceuticals) antifungal medication that allegedly causes liver failure and is linked to congestive heart failure. Lotronex, prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome, for alleged severe intestinal side effects, including ischemic colitis, and constipation so severe it required surgical intervention. Lymerix, a vaccine against Lyme disease, for allegedly causing severe arthritis and even Lyme disease itself. OxyContin, a pain killer prescribed for osteoarthritis, that allegedly is highly addictive and prescribed without adequate warning. Paxil (GlaxoSmithKline) alleging severe withdrawal reactions after taking the anti-depressant Paxil. Propulsid (Cisapride), a medication used for Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), that allegedly may cause heart arrhythmia and sudden death. Provera, that when administered to pregnant women, allegedly causes hypospadias in infants. Remicade which is used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and Crohn's disease, for alleged serious cases of infection, including tuberculosis (TB) and fungal infections, and when used to treat patients who had moderate to severe congestive heart failure (CHF), it allegedly caused higher incidences of mortality and hospitalization for worsening heart failure. Ritalin a medication prescribed for hyperactive children or children with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), for allegedly complications including heart irregularities, central nervous system problems, digestive problems, weight loss and skin problems. Serzone for alleged liver damage and other injuries suffered by patients taking this antidepressant drug. Singulair (montelukast) for alleged systemic allergic reactions. Sporanox, used in anti-fungal treatments, for allegedly causing congestive heart failure. Stadol NS (butorphanol), a nasal spray form of analgesic (pain killer), for its alleged severe addictive qualities. Thimerosal, a mercury-laden preservative used in children's vaccinations for an alleged rise in childhood rates of autism. Zithromax (Pfizer Inc.) antibiotics that allegedly cause liver damage. Zyban, an anti-smoking drug, for alleged adverse affects including seizure and death. Pharmacies that allegedly distribute prescription drugs on a monthly basis in order to receive additional fees. Immunizations with high levels of mercury that allegedly cause some children to develop autism. Pharmaceutical companies that fail to warn birth control users of the possibility of birth defects in children conceived while taking oral contraceptives. Pharmaceutical companies that allegedly manufacture and distribute unsafe drugs.

A $21 million dollar settlement fund has been created as part of the settlement in the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of consumers who took the heart medication Cardizem� CD, or any of its generic equivalents, between 1998 and the present. A $62.5 million settlement has been reached in the class action lawsuit filed against Bristol-Myers Squibb, the manufacturer of the cancer-fighting medicine Taxol.
