So far I've found that 100% grape juice (gah! SOOOO much sugar, am drinking only 1/2 cup every other day b/c of the sugar!) and lemon juice/lemon water naturally detox the body.

I couldn't find the ingredients for Tincup's tea at either of our health food stores(*sob*), so I bought a detox tea that has some of the same ingredients. So far it's okay, but it's had a moderate laxative effect that does not make me smile.

I do NOT want to start any new herbs or supplements because my stomach is a wreck from my teeny tiny 100 dose of Doxy every three days (am I even doing any good with such a small dose?).

So. Anyone have more GENTLE detoxing ideas that have worked for you? Something non-invasive like a bath soak or yoga or something? I want to be proactive about detoxing, but right now my stomach is on red alert!

Oh, just fyi, I am taking a probiotic twice a day (6 strains). Right on cue my nausea hit this evening (my doxy dose was this a.m.). I took Phenergan for it and am sleepy but otherwise better. Still hurting but not horribly and have bouts of unreal fatigue, which are many times worse than before I started meds (I thought I *was* bad, but this is definitely worse).

Still, I feel like my head is maybe more clear and my pain is more spotty - not as constant as before.

Thanks,
Sarah

Dump the grape juice. You are right....way too much sugar!! You will pay in ways you wish you hadn't.

Go back to the health food store and buy Essiac tea. You can buy it ready-made or make your own. You may need help making your own since you have a Lymed brain!!

[I was able to make my own, but it was difficult for my little brain to figure it all out the first time!!]

This tea contains no sugar at all.

Essiac tea is good stuff, it is one of the many things I take to help detox and clear the colon.

Do foods like pineapple, leafy greens, seaweed, etc. count for light detoxing?

Wonder if there is a 12 step way to gently detox before going to the herbs and meds.

Have always been a garlic, chicken soup lover... [Big Grin]

Lymetoo - is this tea going to make me have diarrhea? Because I am *so* over that.

Also, wouldn't pineapple also have too much sugar? I'm allergic to seafood, so seaweed is out, because it has a lot of iodine, too, like seafood.

Thanks,
Sarah

Sarah, I use my epsom salt baths every night without fail. I use two cups and add 1/4 cup of baking soda to make it more alkaline. Saunas are good if you can get to one. I did them all the time until I freaked out my system and had to pump electrolytes into me - eventually I will go back to them, they are wonderful. Baths work wonder with sleep - I take them right before bed, good and hot.
