I think I had ACA as a teenager. It looked like my hand was dipped in battery acid. It felt like it too. I used to lay awake at night with severe itching or I'd wake up from a dead sleep to scratch.
It's supposed to be rare thing for children to develop. The summer before I went on a trip to the Ozarks. I never made any connection between the rash & Lyme until last year when I was looking at pictures.
The rash was diagnosed as eczema and I was given hydrocortisone. That was like putting gasoline on a fire. No matter how much cortisone I slapped on this rash it became worse. I was given ABX for chronic ear infections and the rash finally went away.
