It's been hectic to say the least. [dizzy]

The outpouring of support is incredible !
Unfortunately, I can't give much detail but we are attempting to turn this into a defining moment for the lyme community.

This is our stand. We're not going to be rolled over anymore !

Let this be a notice to med boards,IDSA or any other group or individual that want's us to saunter off in the corner, shut up, lead lives of misery and die early.

The level of oppression you've inflicted on extremely ill people is coming to an end. This movement will not stop with protecting Dr. Hoffmann. It will continue to spread, we'll become more vocal, more legislatively engaged, more legally involved.

Lyme patients know that their doctor could be next, that their very existence can be threatened by the callousness of a faceless bureauocrat.

I can assure you that no longer will you operate in the shadows attempting to dismantle the lyme community by the "death of a thousand cuts."

I've witnessed first hand how powerful this community is. We stand together or fall separately.

We're standing together.

On mOnday I'll be providing some key people we need to contact so please keep your letters handy.

What is happening in Wisconsin right now we will do for YOUR doctor if/when the need arises.

In the title of my thread I mentioned "Why We Fight". Please read below and you'll know why.

hi,
my sister whitney has been really close to me untill she got lyme desiese, we were best friends! when she got her desiese i was very scared, one day she was laying on the floor screaming and we rushed to the hosital,

i was crying more than i ever did in my life, and i felt that she was nolonger alive because she would be sleeping nonstop. when she was awake she would cry her heart out because she would be in such pain, and i would be very scared!

she would call for my mom when she was sleeping and we missed the phone call once and she was crying for me and my mom, and we would try to get her to come upstairs but her legs hurt to much, so she would walk alittle and then she would fall and start to make a soft cry.

when we got her to the top of the stairs and she would start to faint or black out. we would make many trips to differnt places trying to find a good doctor that would treat her, but all of them said that she was going out of her mind and when i heard the first doctor say that, i felt like someone stabed me in my stomach,

i knew she was not going crazy but i still had a feeling that it wouldnt be long untill she would die. i would think about it every night and start to cry even if i was at a frineds house,

i dont really talk about it much so they dont know how worried i was. but now, ever since she saw doctor hoffmen her life has really improved! she has been going back to school and been my best friend again like she used too!

really think about this and think how it would be like being really happy but when once you turn six you see your best friend screaming in pain, every thing has been hard for my sister for so many years,

you cant even imagine how hard it was for my sister to go through her life in pain and nothing but pain! and now she has a life and hope, please dont take it from her!!! if she is happy i am!

Respectfully,
10 year old, Rebekah

This is from Rebekah's sister {Whitney} in her own words the plight she's endured.

Not One More.

My name is whitney , i was born on aug, 6, 1991 i was breach but because i flipped upsidown this was only the start of my problems. when i was around two my parents devorced and we moved to a small arpartment were just me and my mother lived until she met my step father, around this age i started getting constant symptoms that were minor at the time but didnt feel minor.

the symptoms included leg pain, stomach pain and jaw pain. I would visit the doctor many times a month, but it never seemed to help. buy the time i was six i couldnt do much without getting an infection or illness of some kind this was also straining the family of money and i guess everything,

buy the time i was 8 my symptoms were still bothering me but doctors couldnt find any good answers. But this was just the beginning of the pain,

i was blacking out and fainting, i was also losing weight rapidly from starving, i could not eat for my stomach pains were too bad. i went in to a ENT.. where they found a tumor in my head which was pushing on my right eye and they found a cyst in my sinus cavity,

they removed both. then a few months later i coudnt handle the pain anymore, so My mom and I started searching harder but doctors said it was all in my head and i wanted attention and i believed them no doctor believed me, no teacher believed me, I had no hope,

so i didnt believe myself either. every day at school i would go to the bathroom and faint all by myself and when i got back to class i would be punished for being late. I couldnt lay down or ride in a car because of head pain my whole head felt like it was blowing up and it was like waves of water hitting my head over and over.

plus my stomach was getting worse i couldnt eat anything without my stomach blowing up like a bolloon it was horrible i now had over 70 symptoms and slept 99% of the time i was pail and anemic ppl thought i was dying. i finally went to a familly doctor and told her my symptoms and after all the specialist

i had gone to she knew the answer she had told me she knew a girl with some of my symptoms and that she would test me. two weeks after being tested i got the results back and they were positive!!! but now i had to find the right doctor to go to. I started going to a specialist in duluth for 6 months but i didnt feel any better so they gave up on me.

so i ended up thinking i was crazy again but my family doctor said it wasnt true. After talking to my friends with lyme disease they told me about a great doctor in wisconsin his name is Dr. Hoffmann,

so i asked my family doc about it and i started going to him. while this was going on i had another cyst removed and started focusing on my stomach pains, they were unbarable i was in the ER almost every day and they said I was too young for gall bladder problems so my mom and I decided to let me scream and stop going to the ER because they didnt do anything anyways.

, but finally after a year they found out my gallbadder was so bad it was about to burst it was the worst theyed ever seen and the only explaination for it was lyme disease.. about 6 months later i had hip surgury and another cyst removed and then another and the only explaination was lyme disease .

Dr. Hoffmann, is saving my life!!! I havent been able to watch t.v., listen to my radio, go under water, or even ride in a car because my ears were so sensitive and I couldnt walk even up my stairs from my bedroom.. I would faint every time.

I would call crying to my mom to help me up the stairs and she would help. I also, had a wheel chair, I stopped walking almost all the way.. My mom or sister had to help me wash myself because I would faint if I got to fatigued... I always saw spots and I was use to it. I stopped eating and wanted to die.

Now with Doctor Hoffmann's help and treatment, I can ride bike, Im back at school, I can walk up the stairs and even around the block!!! I dont faint any more and Im off heart meds.

I love hanging out with my friends and my family now. I feel like I might have a chance to live. But, if Doctor Hoffmann loses his practice, then I will give up and I wont beable to go back to what I was!!!!! HELP ME AND HELP OTHER LYME SUFFURERS!!!! Dont let us die!!!!!

Well ive said alot im tired so if i wrote real bad you know why. im still getting treated and my doctor is sure that I will be better the longer Im on the treatment for lyme, i have improved alot since we started the treatments and my doctor( DOCTOR HOFFMANN) is all i have he was the only one who stuck by me.

this is what's been taking my life away for the

past 20 years!!!! Please let me know what I can

do. I wouldn't wish how I have been feeling on

WELL SAID.

The tide is turning. We are not taking this anymore.

Our numbers have grown and grown thanks to doctors underdiagnosing and undertreating Lyme for so many years. And now there are too many of us to be worn down by these tactics... just the opposite.

It is becoming clearer to the whole world which "camp" has morals and ethics (and science) on their side.

Awaiting further instructions for Dr. H [Smile]
