I'm on Biaxin for Lyme and Bartonella. I've been receiving treatment since Nov. 2006. This is my fourth family of antibiotics.
I've probably had lyme for about 4 years. I used to work as a field biologist bush-wacking it through wilderness all over CA.
Symptoms....backpain, body aches, brain fog, partial Bells Palsy, TMJ, some Tourettes twitching....and the newest one...night sweats.
Night Sweats?! I'm 27, so its not menopause. I thought it was just my bedding, so I removed some blankets only to go to bed cold and to wake up coated in sweat.
Does anyone else have these? Its a new symptom...what does that mean?

Most people associate night sweats with babesia. I'm not sure if it is considered a symptom of lyme or bartonella.

Kayla,
I've been on lyme treatment for seven months now and also been through several different meds for bart and lyme and then my last visit to my LLMD, he switched me over to babesia treatment (Mepron, Zithromax, and Artemesia) and since then, the night sweats I had years ago in my misdiagnosis's are now happening pretty regularly with this treatment.
I am not a doctor, but my guess would be that you may also have babs and your LLMD may need to be treating that one as well. Just my two cents.
Good luck and keep us posted on how you are doing.

I have night sweats as one of my Babesia symptoms. You may want to talk to your LLMD about it.

I was on Mepron and Zithromax because the LLMD thought I might have babs...but then the blood work came back positive for bart and neg for babs, so he switched me to biaxin. Sheesh. He knows about the night sweats now but still wanted to stay on the biaxin a little while longer since I had some herx, so we think. But I also herxed quite a bit when I started the zithro. I dunno. Grrrrrr!
