I just started taking my probiotics a few days ago. I read the insert on the Theralac, but I'm unclear as to how many I should take. I'm also curious as to whether one can actually injest too many.

What do you all think?

Not sure. If you are on oral antibiotics, I think it would be difficult to take too many probiotics. Just my opinion, based on individual empirical research!

I have not taken Theralac, but many other types of refrigerated probiotics throughout the day to counter the effects of high-dose oral abx. The bottles always say "take one per day" and I take far more than that. I suspect that is why my gut has fared so well after one year on lots of oral abx.

Also important what you eat of course. See Lymetoo's candida-free diet, and cut out sugar and alcohol from your diet. Many folks find they respond to a reduced or gluten-free diet.

I already cut out alcohol and sugar. I also try not to eat too many refined meals.

I'd be interested in other's knowledge on the amount of probiotic use.

The PA at my LLMD office said I would get gas and stomach upset if I took too many. It would be a matter of discomfort.

I'm taking Theralac, Ultra Flora AND VSL#3. Just the VSL#3 has 450 billion! And I take it twice daily.

I did a little research. According to gutflora.org, there is no known harm in digesting large amounts of probiotics (or prebiotics).

Eat up.
