I have been on this combo for about one week and feel good.

Life with Lyme has become tolerable, although I am not sure if this combo is a cure for Bart and how long I have to take or it's lifetime.

By the way I tried Buhner's core herbs for some time and feel it's helping but cannot prevent relapse if off abx.

Before this, I was off abx but on herbs for about one week and felt relapsing.

So I would like to stick to this regimen for a while probably for one year or till all symptoms disappeared.

Any comment especially on toxicity of the combo would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Dave.

If you are improving stick with it, I dont "think" it should take any longer than several months to put bartonella behind you. I have started treating for bart and seen 5-7% improvement after treating it for a month and a half

Wow...yours is a hardcore bart protocol.
I wasn't aware that both of these are given at the same time for bart. What did your LLMD say?
I am on Levaquin only for bart right now + doxy for lyme.

How's your burning nerve pains since the last post..better?

Thanks guys for your input.

chamade, yes, I would think it's a hardcore Bart protocol. I took Levaquin and Rifampin separately before and improved some but feel I plateaued on them.

I accidentally took a double dose of Rifampin and feel great the next day.

However, I didn't dare to try double dose of Rifampin fearing the potential toxicity.

Last time when I was on Levaquin, I had exasperated pains probably caused by Levaquin. So I stopped after one month.

Now in retrospect, after tried many abx, I felt that Rifampin, Levaquin, Artemether, Tinidozol and Doxy (strangely, Mino, the brother of Doxy and supposedly more effective doesn't have any obvious effect on Bart) have some effects on Bart but it's not a cure for Bart if take separately for a short time (don't know for long-term).

So my idea is to take them at same time and/or alternately by pulsing.

The burning nerve pains are also improved to the point I can live with.

Byron, I am happy for you for the improvement.

I remember you had nausea problem, which was the most intolerable symptom of mine when I was very sick. Now it's gone almost completely. When I was off abx a week ago, the symptom seemed slipped back, so I tend to think that it's Bart cause the nausea problem and doubt if I could attribute the improvement to garlic as I thought before.

Anyway through try and error, it seems that I have found therapeutics to control each symptoms of mine.

Also I feel if you are not improved or feel better, you should switch to other treatment.

I can feel the difference between herx and worsened symptoms.

So mistaking worsened symptoms as hrex and sticking with the treatment would not be a good choice.

Best wishes to everybody,

Dave.
