I put in a call to the doctors office today and have not heard back from anyone yet.
Since I can't take not hearing advice any longer, I want to run this buy you all.
I think the Yeast monster has me. I've been on Biaxin XL (1000 mg) and Malarone (1200 mg) for the past four months.
I stopped Malarone about a week and a half ago. Just about a day after stopping Malarone I have slid backwards. I have burning sensations that don't last long, but run all over my legs and arms. Sometimes my feet.
I'm also pretty sure I have a male version of a yeast infection. I'm sooo sleepy all the time and I my brain is fogged up worse than usual. My emotions are running rampid too. One minute I'm ready to go, the next minute I'm too anxious to even fill my car with gas.
So my question is... Could this be a yeast thing? The doc wants me to start Flagyl this weekend, but I'm a bit afriad that could make things worse.
I have stepped up my probiotic intake and have curved my diet. I'm hoping that will help a lot.
What do you think? The nerve pain is something that happened occasionally in the past, but not like this. It's pretty regular today. And it moves all over my body, but always stays in the extremities.

Buy some Theralac. Get serious about bread and sugar and pasta and pizza.
But no, it doesn't sound to me like that's ALL.
If your liver's basically OK, get the doc to phone you in some emergency Diflucan to get you over the hump.
I'd like to see you on that Flagyl sooner rather than later.
Preferably, accompanied by an IV line.
But that's just me.
Hugs to my favorite Visual guy,
Michelle

"Successful control and elminiation of a Candida Albicans overgrowth requires a multifaceted program as described below. Failure to follow ALL the steps simultaneously will result in slow progress and will lengthen healing time significantly. The program should be tailored to the individual and must balance the need to eliminate the Candida and deprive it of its food source while insuring proper nutrition for the individual."
Five Steps to Candida Elimination:
1. You must starve it into submission by eliminating its food source.
2. You must kill it with anti-fungal herbs and supplements. [e.g....garlic, onion, caprylic acid, Pau D'Arco capsules or tea, clove, grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, oil of oregano, tea tree oil, Echinacea, Goldenseal, black walnut, MSM, barberry root, uva ursi, neem leaf, biotin]
3. You must reestablish the proper balance and quantity of probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract. [...multi-strain lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidus capsules with FOS should be taken between meals to maximize repopulation of the digestive tract by beneficial bacteria.]
4. You must reestablish proper levels of all B vitamins (yeast free) and utilize other immune enhancing supplements to boost immune system function. [e.g ... B complex vitamins (yeast free), biotin, beta 1-3 glucan, colostrum, maitake mushroom, vitamins A, C, E, zinc and selenium]
5. You must cleanse and heal the digestive tract to promote proper elimination of toxins and Candida and assimilation of nutrients. [e.g...chlorophyll, MSM, omega 3 fatty acids found in flax seed and salmon oils, GLA found in borage, evening primrose and black currant oils. Pantothenic acid, digestive enzymes between meals] lyme disease in Europe is http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EuroLyme/

Lymetoo, I was doing some reading about yeast. If you have a chronic yeast infection, how long does it take to cure/eliminate?
I know there probably isn't an easy answer...just curious for any info.
Maybe it was babs coming back. I dunno. I got sick of it all and decided to jump into Flagyl.
My world has been spinning ever since.
I think we have stirrrrrrrred up a lot of bugs at this point. I'll ask the doc on Tuesday what he has planned for me in the way of addressing the babs again.
Wheeeeee!

Hubby tries to avoid sugar as much as possible.

I'm wondering if part of your problem may have been stopping the Malarone. My babs symptoms came back quickly when I stopped Mepron for a couple days.
