Has anyone experienced weight gain with using Tetracycline?

Or weight gain with any other antibiotic?

Just curious. I switched to Tetra in July and I seem to be steadily gaining weight, especially around the mid-section and in the face/neck.

All bloodwork is normal concerning thyroid, cortisol levels, etc...

My LLMD says Tetra can cause weight gain. Not sure why this happens..

Hi there

When I took it, I ganed weight, not a lot maybe 15 pounds or so.
My reason was the Tetracycline made me really hungry. [Smile]

I've gained a couple pounds since starting Doxy 3+ weeks ago. I believe Doxy is in the tetracycline family.

Doxy is making me very hungry. I'm trying to watch what I eat and still exercise a bit but I've definitely gained, especially in my mid-section. Frustrating!

I'm a normal weight right now (trying to keep it that way!). [Smile]
