Hi Everyone.
I am now taking 100,000U/ML of liquid nystatin.
I was just wondering if I should take probiotics after I swish this stuff around?
I was thinking perhaps I need to eat some yogurt and swish that around in my mouth as
well...after the nystatin to give "the GOOD Flora" a foothold before the bad yeasties get
back to establish themselves.....
Any opinions on how I should time this regimen?
Thanks zman

Dear Tony, (Glad your back!)
I always take my probiotics at least two hours after any meds including diflucan.
I do, however, brush my teeth and tongue really well as I take the diflucan.
Hugs,

I think you CAN take them at the same time. .. probiotics and Nystatin...but probably better to space them.
I'm sorry your dr gave you the liquid version since it's counter-productive in my opinion. It contains SUGAR!! Go figure!!

Thanks Geneal,tutu and Fin,
At least the taste of this stuff isn't as bad as the Mepron. This stuff is actually kinda good.
Geneal, you're not taking a liquid form of diflucan are you?
Ya know tutu, that little bit of alcohol in those bottles of herbs sometimes bothers me also.
Thanks fin for giving me a schedule. Sounds like you have diabetes as well as I.
I wonder how many of us eventually get diabetes2 or the other forms. It would seem to
me to be something that we all might get due to the lack of energy and chronic pain we all have
to keep us sedentary. Seems the way this bug messing around with the gland that controls our
metabolism and the one that controls getting nutrients out of what we eat, instead of just
passing thru our systems. Would eventually give us all diabetes. Well the ones that are morbidly
obese anyway...not so for the anorexic lyme sufferers I would'nt think.
Again thanks zman

You can take them at the same time as Nystatin kills fungus, and probiotics are not fungus. But, if you're talking about Saccharomyces Boulardii, then that is a friendly fungus, and Nystatin will kill it.
I don't know what is a safe time-space but I take both Nystatin and S.B. but try to do 2 hours apart at least. My LLMD says there's a chance some of the S.B will "take" at least even with Nystatin.
