My son has a bad cough, it has been bad about a month, and he has been on amoxicillin (acctually it was augmentin, but they call it amox/something? 875 mg twice a day)
he has been on doxy since spetember for lyme, nd not really herxed. he has asthma too, so its hard to tell when he really has a cough and when its asthma or both
he went on the amox about jan 4, for ten days, and got better. stopped coughing. after the 10 days on it, he started to decline and felt worse than before
I dont know if it was all to do with the bronchitis or some of it had to do with the lyme. he got the cough back, but also lethargy, twitching, achy joints. sounds more like lyme or co-inf
could a round of abx cause it to get worse?
the dr put him back on the amox for another 10 days, and saying it was a stubborn infection, bronchitis, and he might need back to back rounds
the LLMD said it also is good for the lyme
he is doing better but not 100%. I take him back fri for followup.

Thats a hard one due to bronchitis/asthma issue.
Has anyone thought of babesia?
That cough and shortness of breath?
If he is herxing then you are hitting something.

Interesting you say that Mathias .... I have had bronchitis more times than I can count, and went undiagnosed for years. I never liked taking abx because of their effect on me ... not really a herx, but just didn't think like I recovered well after taking them.
Now that you mention that, I finally realize it was probably Lyme all along causing the bronchitis.

Does that fall under mycoplasma pneumonia symptoms too???

he was diagnosed a couple years ago with mycoplasma pneumonia
could he still have that? but he gets better in the summer, and then sick every winter
