I've noticed that with Lyme my monthly/hormonal migraines are far more intense. They include right-eye pain, right ear ache, dizziness, nausea and really crazy confused thinking.
It used to be just painful for one intense day and mildly painful for two more; now it's intense depressed thoughts and equal pain during the three-day event.
I just get through the days; I don't take anything more than Advil and Benedryl, since I'm on enough strong meds for the Lyme.
Thinking of going to an endocrinologist. Has anyone done that? Results?
Throwing the questions out to you all,
Best,

I just found out something. I had been treating bart for about 4 weeks and have been having cont right side headaches for the whole time, and I got worried something MUST be wrong as 4 week w/o improvment. So I got to thinking, babs maybe too, so get this, I just took a plain old quinine pill (bark) about 500mg or so, and gee, within a hour or so...massive tingling in my shoulder, the pain in my shoulder dropping alot and my headache majorly now lowered. I am going off bart tx and getting on babes tx.

I think its babesia. I get lymegraines sometimes. Suffering thru one yesterday and today. Sometimes I think they're gone for good and then one comes to whack me. Did not have them before the tickbite.

thanks for your replies. I am mid-migraine and totally out-of-it-in-pain-depressed-and-other-worldly.
Sure feels like a herx.
The mental stuff is scary and is persisting even though the pain is lessening.
and, bingo, I have Babs and Lyme. Supposed to be increasing meds and i don't know which to ratchet up. LLMD is opting to increase Amox meds right now.
Thanks again for your support. "Lymegraines" is a good term -- and, yes, they suck big time.
Best to you guys with hopes for no more lymegraines,

amox for babs? huh???????
I took plain old quineine and it is giving me amazing resutls in 2 days!!!! I felt like I was dying before this. rain-tree.com they sell the pure bark. I take 3 g a day, since its unrefined...so not as strong as quinine sufate

Sorry for the confusion: Amox is for Lyme -- I'm working up to a higher dose to cross the blood brain barrier (right now I take 7 x 875 mg. daily...gotta go higher). It's taken me ten months to get this far with slow increase of half pill increments.
I'm taking Malarone for Babs and had put in a touch of zithromax every three days -- which is hard for me to handle. Even the Malarone is hard on me at a baby dose (62.5 mg.). I experience dark, dark depression on this combo.
Needless to say, I build up slowly because I am a lightweight with drugs in general. Wish I could slam them with gusto, but I can't PLUS I have two children who need a 1/2-way cognizant mother.
The quinine sounds impressive. Glad it is doing good stuff for you. Does tonic water enhance the effect? I think I read some older posts about that.
Thanks again for your replies,
