Every time I get a back X-Ray it's worse! Now I have three pinched nerves in my lumbar area and one in cervical area. Still trying to undo the posture damage from the PICC line (it was definitely needed though and really helped me through a bout of Bart/bad Lyme flare). My Vertebrae are out of line [Frown] . Anyone know anything that can reverse this! Going to chiropractor (have to to relieve pain) and PT now. Any vitamin/minerals suggested or other?

Hi,
I will recomend you see an orthopedic surgeon for these spinal issues your having. Try to get good pain meds from the dr. Get MRI's done, they will tell much more than an xray.

If your spine is that unstable and you have pinched nerves, you do have serious problems going on there! Not to scare you, surgery might be the only way to stablize your spine.

Nothing against Chiro drs, they can make some things worse and not better.Therapy can cause more pain and problems too.

A good pain mgmt dr can help with a procedure for the pinched nerves.I forget the correct term for it, it's a cauterization. I think it might be called a rhizotomy or facet joint block.

When my lumbar joints became unstable, I had 18 pinched nerves. I had the procedure done abt 5 yrs ago and haven't been bothered by them since. Its done with a florascope and is painful to set up, you don't feel the actual cauterization. The nerves will grow back, but they find a different route from where they were trapped.

Spineuniverse has a lot of info at that site.
Hope you can stop the pain soon and feel better.

Sorry to hear that you are having so much pain. I also struggle with back pain and my chiropractor has been a huge relief.

Word of mouth is a great way to find a good practitioner in the area. Be careful when choosing a chiropractor because there are several different methods of practice. I like the hands on diversified method. It has helped me the most.

PT did help some, not much, but it is worth a try. Sometimes you have muscle weakness/tightness that keep the vertebrae from going back into proper alignment. PT and Chiropractic together might help you heal faster.

Good luck!

You can try cranial sacral therapy but look for the most experienced practioner you can find. It really can work miracles in certain cases.
