I was hoping this would go away with lyme tx lso, but it seems to be getting worse by symptoms. most of other symptoms are getting better (fevers, sweats, twitching, brain fog)

When I got very ill in 2004 (high fever, pericarditis, meningitis, cranial nerve palsy) i was either re-infected or still had lyme from original dx in 95

My spine at that time was not too bad. i had one bulging disc in the neck that was probably from car accident in 1993, and something at one level in lower back from injury when i was 18 (1982)

since the hospitalization in 2004, that was when my neck pain started, and never went away since, and got progressively worse and spread all over spine

my MRI's in these three years have also gotten progressively worse. its all normal DDD stuff that comes with old age, but I am only 43 and in three years my spine has aged 15 years.

i have bulging discs at 12 levels, with two spondylothesis at L5 and C-2, flattening of spinal cord in T levels, facet arthritis in several levels, PLLO (ossification of ligaments) and I forget what else, its a 10 pages report with all the things wrong from brain to S levels. also more white matter lesions in brain

i just started tx in august and improving slowly, my pain was starting to get better too, but my back sx seem to be plugging along. I now have claudication. pain dr is talking surgery.

anyone have severe spinal changes actually get better with tx? or is this something where even if it is caused by the lyme, will be permanent?
