I am getting the Hemex hypercoagulation test - ISAC panel - done prior to commencing heparin therapy.
There seem to be other tests on the requisition form from Hemex that look like they would be applicable:
For example:
"Hypercoagulation panel" "Factor V Leidin"
Is the ISAC panel sufficient or should I also have some others done (any that hemex tests for).
Thanks!

hi luvs....
i'm going to bed, but dug out my DETAILED testings done in 4-06;
it's detailed by lab and tests done as well as $$$ at that time. good luck!~
Bettyg's 4-20-06 new LLMD in Minn. Office visit summary, complete BODY lab results of 15-18 labs nationwide, all info the lab sent back about specific high/low testing, $$ costs involved, and what each test specifically involved what ... VERY DETAILED!
I did this for other newbies who had NEVER had complete body testing like I did!
Hoped it would give them guidance what they entail, how costly if OUT OF POCKET PAID like my $ 4300, and which specific labs nationwide are the best for these SPECIFIC lab work.

Hi Luvdogs
Factor V Liden is one of the tests I told you about in our PM conversations. All of these tests are real expensive. The way my doc did it was ISAC panel first, then if positive which I was, then do the FVLiden, I wasn't. My HG was definetly acquired.
That test shows whether or not you have a genetic component in this form of HG. I don't think it is an urgent test, but a real good idea to know if you get back a positive Isac.

luv, so glad you found it helpful and copied it for future reference!
yes, i typed everything up in detail so other newbies would know more than i did going into these and the $$$ involved and what insurance would/would not pay.

I am going to start with the ISAC and Hypercoagulation panel 1 - and then I can move on to find more if need be. This has been hard enough just getting these tests ordered!
It is not easy with them having been bought out - Labcorp has no idea what to do and they had to call Hemex, etc... So, we'll start small
I'll let you know what happens!
