Long story short, I was on oral rocephin+zithromax last April and all my rashes went away within a couple of months.

Fast forward, stopped abx last Aug-Oct and rashes reappeared on ankles, little patches, but not itchy. Restarted oral rocephin+zithromax last Nov. and then switched to IV recophin+IV Zithromax Jan. 18 this year, old rashes stayed, and slowly I began to see a brown circle that looks like a bracelet on each ankle!

I also saw some scrathes on my back that disappeared within days, and began to have more axiety, so I asked to switch to IV Levaquin (+IV Rocephin) for Bartonella Feb. 11...

I'm sorry that I can't get my thoughts out clearly (pardon my brain fog), and my real question is, have you had bracelet like rashes? What could this mean? The fact that my rashes are not going away really makes me wonder if I'm using the appropriate abx?

What can my rashes tell me? Even they don't bother me, but can they indicate something, maybe?

Thanks for any comments!

i wasn't on your meds, but

i get rashes on 1 or both arms around the elbow area; used to be once a month!!

they do get itchy, RED, RUNNING HIGH FEVERS IN EACH ARM! and they stay around 1 month. itching/fever for around 1 week and then just there, small pimples, etc.

thanks bettyg.

I used to get rashes on elbows, but they disappeared within days...But these rashes on my ankles have been there for 4+ months and I don't think they are due to my abx...

Funny thing is they look like a bracelet, but don't seem to be scratches that indicate bartonella...

I keep asking, am I on the right abx combo? Should I ask my LLMD to try something else? Feel so discouraged.

I'm not sure if it's because of LD or the abx, I feel very down (like depressed) these two weeks, so scared I'm actually going downhill.

Please pray for me, and I'll pray for you.

Thanks!!

Hi justag, let me know if this is anything like what you are speaking of:

*in addition to some typical Lyme-looking rashes, I had several other strange types of rashes and skin changes associated with my LD
* Before diagnosed and treated, one of the many weird skin things I used to get were what I called 'lasso' or 'lariat' rashes. They would be very, very large ovals or circles outlined in an extremely thin whitish (not brown) line. Very, very distinct, and could cover a huge surface area. One time I had one that went from upper right hand side of stomach toward lower left & included my upper left thigh! One hugh outlined oval. Happened to be a day that I had a derm appt., so I was able to show it to her. I got the classic reply I was getting oh-so-used to receiving: 'it matches no known pathology'. Hey, at least she clearly SAW it - guess I should feel grateful for THAT. Both my derm and my son's pediatrician (who I'm friendly with & also showed during my SON'S ped appt!) said these types of skin anomalies can be 'associated with neurological issues' and with collagen-vascular disease.
*These marks have abated with abx treatment (slightly over a year of doxy now), but I do still get smaller ones from time to time. Pretty much sensation free.

Anyway, just my experience with mystery, thinly-outlined circles, ovals -

otm

p.s. I've had a lot of issues skin-wise, big focus on ankle/shin, hand/wrist areas.
