At the beginning of my symptoms in late 2006, I had drenching night sweats. Early 2007 I used oral abx (cipro, then doxy) and my night sweats went away within a couple of months. I continued to use oral zithromax+rocephin+flagyl after that.

Fast forward, I went on IV rocephin + IV zithromax two months ago and switched to IV rocephin+IV levaquin one month ago, and it's been a few weeks that I noticed myself waking up with a lot of sweats on forhead and chest. Could this be side effect, or herx?

What's your experience on night sweats? Have you seen it come back during treatment? What did your LLMD suggest and do? My LLMD won't be back until two weeks later, so any comments or suggestions or "soothing" words are appreciated!

Thanks!! [group hug] [group hug]

I get night sweats for 1-2 days when things are at their worst. After these sweats is when I feel the best...very cyclic for me, I get them about once a month.

Why me? Well, why not me???

Night sweats are one of the typical symptoms of Babesiosis. Have you been checked for this?
I'm not sure how accurate tests are, but probably much better than for Lyme.
There is an herb, artimesia anua, that is very effective against babesia, especially when combined with 'malarone' (form of atovaquone) and garlic. The extract, artimisinin, of this herb is also very good.
I wish you good luck in your battle!

I'm thinking you've got babs ..... my night sweats went away with babs treatment .... when I cut back on babs treatment and the night sweats came back, my LLMD considered that a sign I needed more babs treatment.

Zith is one drug used for treating babs, so since you just got off that and the sweats came back, it makes me highly suspicious. I'd talk to your LLMD about it.
