Member jamescase20 was taking quinine bark for his Bart.

There's another thing called quassia amara bark - said to be even more powerful than quinine bark. Might want to ask Dr.B what he thinks about it.

My LLMD is having me take boneset, stephania root, and red root tinctures 3 times a day in addition to my regular antibiotics for Bart.

Boneset, resveratrol, sarspirilla.....I take this along with samento and astragalus.

When I dropped the resveratrol and samento for 4-6 weeks......I got tingling symptoms in my fingers and toes. Got back on these herbs quickly and the symptoms went away.

I find the Healing Lyme book a great reference.

Are any of these herbs really working on the bart?
And how do you know they are?

I'm on homeopathy and want to try herbs for my bart, but want to make sure it really does work

Thanks

When I first started taking the herbs, I didn't feel like they were doing much. But I was only taking 1 squirt twice a day. Then I read in Buhner's book that the recommended dose for Stephania root was 1/2 teaspoonful 3x day. 1/2 teaspoon turned out to be more than 2 squirts, so I increased my dose on all 3 to 2 squirts 3x/day and then I started herxing really hard. (an accupuncturist had already advised me to increase the dose of one of the other herbs, so I just went ahead and increased the dose of all three)

The caveat is that, depending on your bacteria load, you may not need as much as I'm taking. I've been on antibiotics for over 2 years, and my bacteria load has been reduced tremendously. So you should start conservatively and adjust the dose accordingly.

I'm using the tinctures by HerbPharm, and I'm taking these in addition to my antibiotics.

My LLMD has some proprietary herb formulas for Bart.

I'll report when I've tried them.

Best,

Cass A
