For those of you who have relapsed while off of abx...
What were the first symptoms, and how quickly did they appear?
Thanks for any info, cactus

twitching comes back within 3 to 4 days. Then numbness (usually scalp, top of nose, left hand). Then my knees get sore/stiff. So I'm a mess within a week or so.
Start to feel tired after a week...basically my symptoms come back pretty quick when I go off abx. But I bounce back quickly when I go back on. I've done this twice - second time not as bad as the first which I hope means I made some progress.

Crushing fatigue was my first symptom of my first serious relapse, about 3-5 months after I stopped abx. Plus Lyme rages (verbal only, thankfully).
Knee pain was the first symptom of my second relapse . Unfortunately, I ignored that, plus the chest pain, plus the dizziness, plus the insomnia, plus, plus... (you get the idea) for 8 years, until I finally crashed big time. I did see docs about those symptoms, just not my Lyme doc, so no one made the connection.
Moral of the story - if you think (even the tiniest bit) that something is returning related to Lyme. Go See Your LLMD!!! (or at least call) because you don't want to end up completely homebound like I am now.

haha burning skin, not skiing or sking.
I would never go skiing now. I can barelly walk a mile without 3 days of pain afterwards.

Thanks, everyone. I've only been off abx for a few weeks while dealing with some other issues. Wanted to see what would happen as I felt very toxic.
While I have not crashed completely, little things are creeping back up - burning hands and feet, fatigue... oh, you name it... I don't want to start a massive downhill slide.
lymeHerx, I didn't even notice your typo! Skiing sounds like more fun than the skin burning. I get that, too (the burning skin, and no, I won't be skiing anytime soon either!).
