The body does build tolerance to benzodiazapenes such as Clonazepam (Klonopin) after time, so I would guess that if you are taking it regularly those symptoms might abate.

Hi,
I take Xanax which is in the same family as Klonopin but it does NOT make me drowsy or depressed.
Klonopin totally made me depressed and I found it completely inferior in aiding my anxiety and inability to sleep.

Personally, I have taken many benzo's out there over the years (Ativan, Xanax, Xanax ER, Valium and BuSpar (not a true benzo)), and since going on Clonazepam (Klonopin), you couldn't pay me to switch...
Like most meds, some people agree with them better than others do........have you taken benzo's before? And like earlier mentioned, you do develop a tolerance to them, BUT Klonopin's half life is longer than most (maybe even Xanax ER). That was a big deciding factor in me switching to it. It is also better to keep a steady level going rather than up and down.........like take it tonight and then stay with that routine and not skip days. Taking it with food can also alter the effects of it.
Not to play doctor, but have you considered SSRI's or SNRI's? In some cases, even very mild doses of benzo's can wipe you out, and SSRI's and SNRI's may be enough to help you.
There are also certain vitamins and supplements that can alter the effects of these types of meds.
0.25 mg is very low, and if you continue to feel out of sorts, it might be worth talking to your doctor, because you are wanting something to calm you down not wipe you out and make you depressed..........
Sending you well wishes.......

Klonopin doesn't only depress the spirit - it depresses the immune system - probably why I'm in the shape I'm in. I couldn't sneeze until I stopped it.
On the other hand, it is neuroprotective. My brain is fried because I got tired of being treated like a drug addict on it, and I cold-turkeyed it on my own.
I cold-turkeyed a 15 or 16 year benzo on my own - with Lyme, with babesia, with other coinfections, and a diagnosis of malnutrition, because I looked like a skeleton. And I'm still alive? Wow. Sometimes I surprise even myself.
At least my doctors can sleep at night, knowing they saved me from being a drug addict.
Clarissa - Does Xanax help with insomnia and noise intolerance? I'm not taking the Klonopin for anxiety or depression - just to help me sleep and tolerate children.
Tiffany - This is my first benzo. I've tried Lexapro, and it did not give me any side effects, but it did not help with sleep or noise intolerance. I haven't been taking Klonopin with food - should I be?

Hi guys,
Xanax is my "save-all". It helps my irritabiity, anxiety, noise-sensitivity, sleeping, etc.
Everyone's different so klonopin may work for some but I definitely noticed added depression of some sort.
Luvdogs: I think any depression you've suffered with is definitely due to the PURPLE PILL! I'll pm ya sometime soon. Hope you're well.
