Hi I live in Florida. About a month ago our dog recently passed away from Vasculitis (we have two other dogs) which the vet thought might have come from a tick. She suggested we treat the house. We treated the house and ALOT of ticks came out. We have been told they are dog ticks ( i know there are two types and I swear the bug people really don't know which ones they are). Meanwhile I had been getting bit by something (no visible ticks) but I ended up with about 12 or so bites within a week.

I had some muscle twitching for a bit and my muscles felt weak. Then about two weeks ago I had a rash on my arms. It kind of went away and then came back and now the rash is also on my stomach. It kind of looks like poison ivy. It seems to be getting better.

I have not had the flu or felt sick as of yet. Should I be concerned about Lymes Disease? The doctors have told me not to worry about it (although the Doc did do bloodwork to check for Lymes which I know can be negative) and how should I proceed? I would assume a month of antibiotics would be hard on the body so you wouldn't want to just treat correct?

And we are still battling the ticks in our house!! We re on round three of treating the home. I hope there is some end of this in sight
Thanks L

You can get many diseases from ONE tick bite! It sounds like you already have picked up SOMETHING!!

Get it checked out. Of course, you won't find many if any drs in FL who know ANYTHING about Lyme disease. [NOT lymes]

You could also have contracted bartonella from the sound of that rash.

I would advise you to take a picture of the rash ASAP. Also include a ruler next to the rash, especially if the rash gets larger.

Take another pic if it gets larger. Perhaps include a date from a newspaper next to the ruler. Lots to get in!! [Wink]

Do lots of reading here. Lyme is not something you want to mess around with. Taking antibiotics for one month is nothing compared to taking abx for the rest of your life if you don't take care of it NOW!
