Hubby did herx with colloidal silver -- think a lot depends on the product. However, even though he actually used IV colloidal silver per M.D.'s instructions he did not feel it was strong enough to do anything except stir up the bugs. He tried this for 3 or 4 months I think it was.
Hubby has Lyme, Babesia and Bartonella.
In my opinion herbs such as those in the Healing Lyme book may be a better choice if you want to try alternative treatments. But even then, I think a combination of herbs and antibiotics will work better than herbs alone.
This is not medical advice, just my opinion based on hubby's experiences.

I've done BOTH. I think "curing" Lyme takes antibiotics and alternative treatments.
I'm taking Mesosilver since being treated for Lyme (IV) and Bart (orals). I'm definitely herxing on the Mesosilver, though.
I have a feeling this particular brand of colloidal silver is worth trying. I can feel it killing and clearing.
If you're apprehensive about the picc then maybe you could try this approach first but my GUT tells me that you need to knock down the numbers with heavy duty antibiotics and then clean up/kill off and maintain with something like colloidal silver.
Here are some great links to help you make your decision. In general, I give this product the thumbs up!
