I went on levaquin for a month and had horrible herx. After a month my doctor decided to pull me off all meds and start me on IM Rocephin.
I was all off all meds for 10 days and literally so exhausted. I've been sleeping 12-16 hours a day (luckily i had the week of work off).
I start Rocephin IM (inter muscular) two days ago and still sleeping! My mom doesn't understand and think I am just milking it. But I am just so tired still.
Anyone experience this? I will call my doctor on Monday but I am so worried because I start a new job on Monday...

Sorry you're feeling so bad. It takes months or years to heal from Lyme. Fatigue is a big symptom. You would not feel better in only two days.

Yes, it can take a long time and fatigue - deep fatigue - is unbelievable even to myself and I know it's for real.
I hope your mom will read about this and learn.
I wish I had the energy to say more but I just wore myself out on another post.
Others will be along with specific articles or books that you can share.
Take care of yourself. That's so important. Just do the best you can. Let yourself sleep as your body requires - sleep is very healing. The body knows it has to shut down and attend to other matters. You can't have the energy for other things until more important things are healed (sorry for nondescript words).

Thanks! I haven't experienced this fatigue in years. And I have been doing ok, aside from the month of levaquin-mostly stable.
Of course I am tired, but I had the energy to at least go out with friends on saturday night. Now I can barely stay awake long enough to eat dinner.
This is so discouraging. I thought I was through the tough part of lyme. At 24, three years after treatment I fear that I will never be rid of this hopeless disease.
