Hi All,
I just wanted to share that this month I have felt tremendously better--almost 95% NORMAL.
LLMD did change my abx this month to zithro, but I wonder if my improvement was boosted because I have been taking this enzyme, Virastop by Enzymedia, which, according to my local health food guy, assists in breaking up the "shield" that lyme puts up to block out abx.
He said not only lyme does this, but other bacteria as well, protect themselves with a coating.
He claims that the enzyme allows the abx to penetrate and kill it. This sounded logical.
Unless it is a coincidence, or change in abx, it REALLY helped!!
Has anyone else had good results with taking this enzyme or is it just my imagination.???
In any case, I am very happy with results at the moment!!!

Interesting!
It contains catalase which is our most abundant anti-oxidant ENZYME...
And I wondered what happened to that, our most abundant anti-oxidant enzyme.
(SOD by Solaray contains all the anti-oxidant enzymes.)
(Indicates a need/time to alkalinize.) AlkaMax by Trimedica might work too.

I've been taking enzymedica virastop off and on for a number of years via muscle testing.
Don't notice a huge improvement but I do think it helps.
There are also similar enzymes for candida. Used to penetrate the cell walls.

Gemofnj,
So happy you're seeing this wonderful success! I'm sure it's either the Zithro or the new supplement or a combo of the two.
You have almost convinced me to run to the health food store and go buy some!!! How many do you take per day, and do you divide them throughout the day? Do you take them on an empty stomach?
I take Wobenzyme currently, and have seen success from it, and a difference in the way I feel, so I do very much believe in enzymes! Good luck with your treatment.
Also, to the recent poster, is it the same brand that makes the one that works against yeast?

Hoosiers,
Thank YOU!
It recommends that you take 2x day, either 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
The candida product is also on the website too. I'm not exactly sure what a "protease" is or does. Something chemical I am assuming.
THe candida product is an enzyme formula as well, but it warns not to take with any time release meds containing cellulose.
I'm not good at knowing all this medical stuff, so I guess I will have to check with LLMD or the health food dude.
What DO we have to lose, anyway??
Good luck and take care.

Not much to loose...if it makes you feel good I say go for it! Thanks for the info.
I have noticed a lot of my "backslides" coincide with the times I go off my Wobenzyme, so I think these enzymes are definitely worth the money.
I also read something good about the enzyme bromelain, I believe it was in a current thread about medicines and supplements interacting. It is one of the active enzymes in pineapple. Some people are allergic or "sensitive" to it though, so pay attention if you end up feeling a little worse after you take it! But what I read was something about it being helpful for Lyme. Bromelain is in Wobenzyme, but if you're on the other supplement I dunno if you would even need it.
Anyways, good luck!

Virastop appears to a potent mix, including serrapeptase. Watch out, especially if you are taking antibiotics...it may give you some jumbo herxes.

Just want to let you know I have not felt anything uncomfortable from the enzyme.
Actually, the worse symptoms that I seem to be having is a slight yeast overgrowth. Currently taking Fungal Defense, (powerful oregano tab), tons of probiotics and low carbs/sugar.
Also brushing my tongue, using antiseptic mouthwash, and dipping my toothbrush in bleach rinse after use to kill any left on the brush.
I plan on purchasing the candida enzyme when I am sure that I am not taking anything that contains cellulose.
I still cant fathom the evil power of a creature the size of the head of a pin can cause such a magnitude of sickness and disability to us vulnerable humans!
My heart goes out to those who are severely ill.
Wishing everyone brighter days with less pain.

I've used Virastop for years, long before I found a doctor to treat me. I think it helped me keep my illness mild for a long time, among many other supplements.
I always take it on an empty stomach, so it goes systemic. If you eat with it, it just helps to digest that food.
I've also used candidase, but not as much. I don't seem to have a very bad problem with yeast overgrowth. I avoid sugar, and gluten, which give me trouble. I also take plenty of probiotics. But I think it's also a good product.
