My son is currently on Biaxin/Amoxi.

I have done this combo with NO "cognitive" symptoms, I can usually "feel" when drug is in my brain by my symptoms.

He said it feels similar to Flagyl, depression, no motivation, fatigued, getting tired or relaxed makes him feel worse and appetite is gone.

I can't find much on it, except one older pdf that reads CNS penetration is fair.

Does anyone know or can you provide a link that may show if Biaxin crosses the BBB?

Sorry no real answer here, but my 3yo son is on biaxin and omnicef and his appetite comes and goes as does his fatigue.

I'm sorry for you little guy.

I have heard over and over that after being on Flagyl for a while it causes depression and possible other emotional issues. I have also heard that they last while and then can go away, too.

I've always "pulse" the Flagyl (one week every four weesk) so I've never experienced this.

My dr. mentioned it to me once and I've read several accounts of Lymies going through this.

I did well on Biaxin and Amoxy while also on one Malarone pill a day but I think after months my body got to use to the Biaxin and I am not sure it still was working for me.

Maybe your LLMD can change his meds if he is depressed on them.

I don't know if he is at all into doing yoga but it does boast my mood at times.
