I'm sorry to hear that you have this too [Frown]

It helps me to sleep semi-sitting up. I purchased a body pillow and I hold it against me so I can rest my head on it while leaning back against pillows propped against my headboard.

I'm not sure what causes this either. When I lay down, it feels like I have vertigo and my head gets really light, and I start to get breathless and my heart feels like it stops beating. It sounds like you have very similar symptoms.

My LLMD's best guess is that it's actually kidney disfunction, since the kidney's actually have a lot to do with blood circulation and heart rate. I really don't know though.

I hope it clears up soon for you!

i have the exact same symptoms. Laying down causes air hunger... and chest pains are common laying in bed at night....

when I'm drifting off to sleep I always get a bad quick chest pain that wakes me... feels like a heart attack but its not a sharp pain, it is more like a deep, achey pain in the chest by the heart.

Yeah, I get the bad heart thuds when I lay down.
When it's really bad I sleep sitting up, propped up on a couch cushion. [Frown]

Sometimes, but not always. I've noticed the shortness of breath and palps sometimes pop up when laying down.

Absolutely. When I'm in bed, I actually feel more tired and more stressed than I do when I'm up. Crazy stuff....

More pillows definitely help with the shortness-of-breath-I'm-dying thing...

yep, me too. I use 5 large down pillows on a california king bed all to myself and I still can't sleep all night. I usually get the heart palps in bed most of the time, but then again, I can feel my heart pounding when it it quiet, so I'm not sure if they are there a lot more often.... [Frown]
