My good friend (with Lyme) had a gallbladder ultra sound everything was ok...no blockages.
She had a hida scan her gallbladder function is 20%..they want to take it out.
She feels nauseated a lot and vomits once in awhile, but is that related to this disease &/or abx or to her gallbladder?
She has not done IV only orals and I am wondering if YOU think this is absolutely necessary. I have heard of people living with gallbladder's functioning way less than this.
Also - if it is diseased, woulnd't it be because of LD, could it get better with treatment?
Anything natural to detox and get a gallbladder functioning better?
It just seems everyone has their gallbladder out and this surgery is much too common and over used.

I am no expert on the subject but I would think acupuncture could help and also a good naturopath.
I am taking something for the gall bladder right now called Chanca Piedra "break stone" that my acupuncturist gave me. He probably sells it on his website if your friend is interested in buying some.

My gallbladder has been acting up the last few days and I posted for help in an earlier post asking about milk thistle. Not really clear if that will help though so still looking for answers.
I would assume that some measure of detoxing the liver would help the galbladder being that they're conected.
I will be watching this thread, hopefully you get some good advice.

Personally, my number one debilitating symptom since day one with this disease has been nausea...feeling like morning sickness or a bad hangover. I experience no abdominal pain.
The onset of my disease was slow...intermittent episodes of nausea (few day/month) and with time it worsened and along with it came many other symptoms. Finally, after 18 months I got my lyme diagnosis.
I have been treating for 14 months and although the nausea is not nearly as intense, it is with me 24/7.
I was initially diagnosed with gastroparesis and that was thought to be the cause of my nausea. Well, my gastroparesis resolved with Lyme treatment and I'm still left with horrible nausea. Besides that and a minor sore throat, all of my other symptoms have subsided. Unfortunately though, the nausea was always the worst for me.
Over the past couple of years I also have had abdominal CTs, upper endoscopies, etc. and nothing has been found. I finally asked for a HIDA Scan and my ejection fraction was at about 12%. My gastronenterologist did NOT suggest surgery as he felt it was not the cause of my persistent nausea. His rationale was that since I was not in any pain AND because my nausea wasn't only present when eating certain foods, it likely wasn't the cause of my feeling sick.
I'm very interested in learning more about your friends story....If I do decide to have m gallbladder out, you can be sure I'll have it tested for those little spirochetes!

My daughter is trying a new cleanse that has concentrated fruit enzymes. It's supposed to cleanse the liver and gallbladder and kidneys.
It tastes nasty, but it was gentle, and she wants to do it every month.
She said she felt discomfort the first couple of days in the gallbladder/liver area. We watched her for other signs and fever, but they went away on day four.
This isn't one of those epsom salt gallbladder cleanses, this is no risk. In fact, we didn't know if it would do anything at all. But, she is feeling better.
We knew she has a few small stones, but we imagined the rest was sludge, and a mild cleanse would clear it.
Time will tell, so we won't claim victory yet.
We just wanted to keep the gallbladder as long as possible.
I think if you are immobile from pain, yellow skinned, and have fever and sweats, it's time to get rid of it.

I think cleansing is very important for a variety of reasons...particularly for minimizing 'sludging' of the liver, pancreas and gallbladder.
However, I'm thinking all the cleansing in the world may not help those of us with a low ejection fractions....particularly if no sludging or stones were observed during CT scans/ultrasounds.
Instead, is a low function gallbladder a symptom of a neurological issue that all of the cleansing in the world couldn't reverse?? And, in my case (and that of Lymebytes friend) could it be permanent damage to our gallbladder (symptom chronic nausea) that only removal could cure??
I keep pondering this question and no doctor seems able to answer....
Not sure if this makes sense of anyone has any further thoughts....ugh, what I wouldn't do to get rid of this nausea!!

The Lemon Olive drink should have immediate results. So if a patient isn't responding after a week or two of it, then chances are it is a problem beyond detoxification.
Scans often do not provide enough sensitivity to accurately diagnose if sludging or sand-like-particles are present. If any of that is an issue, the Lemon Olive will be able to resolve it.
About 2-3 hours before the Lemon Olive Oil Drink is when medication should be taken.
