This is the one thing that I'm really battling, It is making it tough to get through my work day. Everything else I can deal with. Can someone tell me if magnesium and ginger are the only things that take the dizziness away?

What, in detail is the dizziness caused by?

Clint,

has this increased just since beginning your new protocol yesterday?

If so, can you call your LLMDs office for advice? They would want to know in case this may be a reaction to one of the meds (i.e. zithromax?).

If so, ask if you can take NAC and B-6. B-6 helped reduce vertigo in a study where minocycline triggered it. ( http://tinyurl.com/3xpvck )

NAC has been mentioned in other research to help reduce vertigo as a side-effect of some meds. But, you should ask your doctor as NAC may cause some meds to be cleared too quickly.

Sometimes, it just takes a while being on treatment.

Often, the vertigo is because the inner ear is greatly affected by toxins. Inflammation, too, is a culprit. Turmeric (or it's stronger version, curcumin) may help in that regard as it is anti-inflammatory.

Clint,

Dizziness and headaches my major sx. In detail, dizziness caused by infection in the brain or some inner ear disturbances.

What to do?

Klonopin gives me some relief, but doesn't take it away completly. Hopefully, proper tx will do the trick.

Hang on,
Feelfit

If it's inflammation, maybe something like Wobenzym?

I don't know that from experience, but I have heard that Wobenzym helps inflammation, and I do feel better when I'm on Wobenzym

It is really expensive though, so I guess it's a personal choice. You can get it cheaper online.

Good luck.

I myself have tried quite a few things to rid myself of this very debilitating symptom....to no real avail.

As I write this, I am wearing "Sea Bands".
I have been wearing them for 4 days, from the 2nd my feet touch the floor in the morning...until I go to sleep.

It seems to help a little (not completely gone) but maybe it's just me "wishing" that they are helping.

I also take Magnesium everyday (have for several years- for other reasons) and ginger everyday.

Last week I tried Meclizine (prescription) and it made me very sleepy (so I did not CARE that I was dizzy) AND caused Urinary retention and pain.

Would love to hear any other suggestions also.

I had nearly constant dizziness 2 years ago (start of treatment). It was horrible & very debilitating. For me, dizziness seemed to go along with neuro LD symptoms ( muscle twitches, burning skin, floaters, etc). After 2 years of abx, dizziness significanly better. Only rears its head occassionaly now.

Good Luck.

Ferrum phos (iron) can help. I like the kind that melts under your tongue by Hylands. It is Ferrum Phos in the 6 x dose.

If you have babs it can cause a lack of iron.

Clint,

Dizziness was one of my earliest symptoms, and it has been one of the slowest to go away with treatment for lyme. It has gotten significantly better after two years of antibiotics. You might need alot of patience in treating this symptom.

Also, babesia can be implicated in dizziness, which I still need to treat. Some meds, like minocycline, can cause dizziness at first.

Someone that I know with horrible dizziness got much better with physical therapy by a neuroopthamologist. The dizziness was caused by a lack of correspondence between visual information his eyes took in and his coordination and the physical world. Along with treatment, the physical therapy helped.

I drank sea salt water last night after a friend tipped me off to it and today my dizziness is SLIGHTLY better.

I'm at the point now where I will deal with the pain, the panic attacks, the anxiety, the heart palps, the twitches, everything else without one complaint if the dizziness doesn't occur. If only we could bargain that way.

Hey Clint.

I'm glad that salt water helped some......

I use it in general to give me a boost....better than nothing, right?

But just so you know......really the only thing that will make it better is getting rid of the tick diseases. I hope you get some answers and figure out whether or not you have babesia, because one symptom of babesia is "imbalance without true vertigo"

EEK!

I have had dizziness in the past and it got better just through treatment....so hang in there and take good care of yourself, because getting rid of the diseases is what will bring you 95% of your relief.

Good luck Clint!

Hi, I had terrible dizziness for a year before the worst lyme symptoms started. Mayo clinic diagnosed me with POTS - had 2 positive tilt table tests. I think the anitbiotics will help you with the dizziness. Also, antivert had not worked for me a yr ago, but an ER doc gave me 2 pills and it helped. I tried everything from the ear patch to every drug prescribable and NOTHING touched the dizziness and brain fog. After being on IV Cefapime for about a month the dizziness is better. I totally understand how you feel and your inner ears probably hurt or feel pressure also. Good luck and get on some heavy abx asap.
